Men need other men.

Not just guys to talk sports with. Not just guys to work beside. Men who will pray with you, challenge you, sharpen you, and point you back to Jesus when life gets heavy.

That’s what we’re building at River Church.

Tonight at 6:30 PM, our men are starting through 1 Samuel together. No fancy program. No pretending you’ve got everything figured out. Just men, Bibles, honest conversation, and a desire to become the men God has called us to be.

If you’ve been thinking about coming, tonight is a good night to walk through the door.

We spend a whole lot of time asking God to fix what’s going on around us.

Fix the problem. Open the door. Change the situation. Hurry up, Lord.

But sometimes God is doing His biggest work IN us while we’re still waiting for Him to do something AROUND us.

Abraham knew that kind of waiting.

This Sunday we’re digging into Genesis 17 and what happens when God meets Abraham right smack in the middle of it.

Before God changes your circumstances, He may be changing you.

And it’s the first Sunday of the month, which means we’ll gather around the Lord’s Table and take Communion together.

Come worship with us.

It’s been a rough couple weeks.

There’s been pain. Loss. Fear. Questions we don’t have answers for.

And the enemy would LOVE to use a hard chapter to convince you the whole story is over.

Don’t give him that ground.

We’re still here.

God is still God.
Jesus is still King.
The tomb is still empty.
The Gospel is still true.
And God is still writing.

So dig in.

Plant your feet.

Pray harder. Love people harder. Serve harder. Keep showing up. Keep trusting Jesus when you can’t see what He’s doing.

We might be bruised.

But we are not beaten.

This chapter does not get to write the ending.

If God is still writing… you don’t get to declare the story finished.

We’re not done.

Not even close.

Some weeks hurt more than others.

Some moments leave us asking questions we don’t have answers for. We look at what has happened, what has been lost, what people are carrying—and it can become hard to see beyond right now.

But we see the moment. God sees the story.

We see the pain in front of us.
God sees what we cannot yet see.

We see the wilderness.
God has not lost sight of the road ahead.

We may not understand what God is doing. We may not understand His timing. But we can still trust His character.

This moment is real. The pain is real. But this moment is not the whole story.

Hold on to Him.

The God who sees you today already sees the road ahead. 🧡

And if you’re carrying something heavy right now, you don’t have to carry it alone. Come sit with us this Sunday. No pressure. No pretending. Just come as you are.

River Church family,

One of our own is walking through an unimaginable loss.

A mother in our church family has lost her daughter, Delia Samera Flores. In moments like this, there are no words that can make the hurt go away. But there are things we can do.

We can pray. We can love. We can show up. And we can help carry the burden.

A GoFundMe has been created to help Delia’s family during this incredibly difficult time. If you are able to give, please consider blessing this family. If you aren't able to give, please take a moment to pray for Delia's mother, her family, and everyone who loved her.

Church, this is one of those moments when we get to be the hands and feet of Jesus to a hurting family.

“Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.” — Romans 12:15

Please pray. Please share. And if God puts it on your heart, please give.

Humanity could produce religion, laws, sacrifices, philosophies, and moral systems.

But humanity could never produce a Savior.

We could not remove our guilt, earn the righteousness God requires, reconcile ourselves to a holy God, or conquer death.

So, when the set time had fully come, God sent His Son.

Jesus lived the life we could never live, carried the sin we could never remove, died the death we deserved—and rose from the grave!

What human effort could never accomplish, God provided in Jesus Christ.

What are you trying to force because waiting on God has become painful?

Sometimes we carry responsibilities God never assigned us. We force doors He has not opened, manipulate outcomes we cannot control, and exhaust ourselves trying to manufacture what only He can provide.

Take a moment today.

Pray. Release it into God’s hands. Choose obedience—and trust Him with the outcome.

Waiting on God is not weakness.

It takes strength to keep trusting when we cannot see what He is doing. It takes courage to remain obedient when His timing does not match our expectations.

Whatever you are waiting for today, remember: God has not forgotten you.

“Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.”
