Beginning this Sunday (9-6-26) we will be looking at a series of sermons on the Holy Spirit. There is a wide range of definitions that people give about the Holy Spirit. Depending on the church you may attend, you will see a variation of how the Holy Spirit "shows up" in the church service.
I remember visiting with a friend of mine one time, and we got on the subject of the how the Holy Spirit works. He told me that he saw the Holy Spirit throw a 300 pound woman over the back of the pew one Sunday. I asked him why did the Holy Spirit need to do that? His answer was "to show His power".
Well, I don't know about you, but I believe the Holy Spirit has a whole lot more power than that. And, I don't see any reason that the Holy Spirit needed to prove Himself, by throwing that women over the back of the pew.
The Holy Spirit is not in the business of throwing people around like a bully. He's in the business of transforming people from the inside out. Oh yeah, He will turn your life upside down for sure.
He changes people from a sinner to a saint. He changes people's perspective on life. He can take the most low-down, rotten scoundrel on the earth, and turn them into a preacher. That's the power of the Holy Spirit, and He don't even need to throw you over the back of pew to do it. He can take your mess and turn it into your message.
He can heal the broken-heart, the broken mind, and the broken body. He can give strength to weak, comfort to the hurting, and give peace that passes all understanding. His power is beyond our understanding.
How does He do this? Who exactly is He? How does He work? Does He just "show up" at church now and then, and throw people over the pew? Where does He live? Is the Holy Spirit even a person?
We'll dive into who He is this Sunday. We'll look at what the Bible says about the Holy Spirit. We'll look at what Jesus says about who He is, what His role is, and how He does it. Nobody knows more about the Holy Spirit than Jesus does, right? I think we better go with what He says.
Your welcomed to come and Worship with us on Sunday mornings, starting at 9:30 am. You'll receive a warm welcome, I guarantee it.

The past 2 Sunday's we've looked at the story of David and Goliath. There is so much to learn from this story. Goliath was huge, lethal, a super-weapon of his day, and his pride is bigger than he was. He stopped the Israelite's in their tracks in fear.
David comes along, a shepherd boy, to young for the army, and sees and hears Goliath "defy the armies of Israel". This stirred David up! "Who does this Philistine think he is", David asked? "I ain't afraid of this Philistine. I've killed a bear and a lion with my bare hands. This Philistine will be just like them".
How can David be so confident that he can kill Goliath? There is not a single chance of David being able to kill Goliath, impossible odds. What does David have that the entire Israeli army and King Saul not have? David has faith, an enormous faith. David has faith that he has seen before. He has seen how God saved him from the bear and lion. David's faith is bigger than Goliath, and his pride put together. David's faith is bigger than the faith of the entire Israeli army and King Saul put together. David has a secret weapon, and he knows how to use it. It's not his sling and stone. It's GOD.
Join us Sunday (8-30-26) as we look at what an enormous faith can do. We'll look at the parallel between David, Jesus, Goliath, and Satan. Worship starts at 9:30 am, see ya then.

We read stories in the Bible of people who were worshipping idols and false gods. We sometimes wonder, "how can they fall for that". Surprisingly, not much has changed. Many people are worshipping false gods without even realizing it. Who is this false god? How are people worshipping it without even knowing it? The god of Baal is alive and thriving in our world today.
Join us this Sunday (5-31-26) at Forest Dell Community Church to find out. We will Worship the One True God through song, a Communion Time, and a study of His Word. Everyone is welcomed, it all starts at 9:30 am.

When a farmer or a gardener puts a seed in the ground, they expect that plant to grow and be productive, to be a benefit for the farmer and many others.
Jesus used this thought describing the Kingdom of God. He used a small mustard seed to illustrate the Kingdom of God in Mark 4:30-32. What does Jesus mean when He said "the Kingdom of God is like a mustard seed"? We'll explore this description and see how this applies to us.
In our Bible study following our worship time, we are in Daniel chapter 8. Daniel has another vision about nations rising and falling, and how they lead to the coming Antichrist, and where he will come from. This is a fascinating chapter.
Come and join us this Sunday (5-16-26) You'll be glad you did. It all starts at 9:30 am.

Mother's Day 2026. We will be honouring our mother's this Sunday (5-10-26) as we look at some examples in the Bible of good mother's, and how mother's shape the world. Mother's, you do hold the world in the palm of you hand. No matter your age, mothers are always an influenceโ€ฆ Always an inspirationโ€ฆ Always a trusted resourceโ€ฆ Because of that, you have a God given responsibility of shaping the world through your children.
Come and join us at Forest Dell Community Church to worship our Lord, have a time of communion, and study God's Word. It all starts at 9:30 am. Anyone and everyone is invited to join us.

Have you ever had a time when you thought God is asking you to do something? Maybe something that is out of your comfort zone? Like lead a Bible study, teach a 3rd grade Sunday School class, or a High School class? Or maybe He's asking you to go talk to someone that is going through some hard times, and they need Jesus? Or maybe He's asking you to go on a mission trip to Mexico, or Africa, or maybe to New York City? Maybe He's asking you to go help your widowed neighbor fix her roof, or clean up her yard, or just sit with her on the front porch and visit?
I could go on and on with examples. The point is, what is your answer? Most often our answer is, "Oh, I can't do that, I don't know how".
Would God be asking you to do something that you can't do? Why would God send someone to do something that is incapable of doing it? ๐—›๐—ฒ ๐˜„๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—น๐—ฑ๐—ป'๐˜! If God is asking you to do something, trust Him to equip you with what you need to do it. ๐—›๐—ฒ ๐˜„๐—ถ๐—น๐—น!
God has gifted every single person with a skill or talent to serve others and serve Him. Do you believe it?
We will be exploring this topic this Sunday (5-3-26) at Forest Dell Community Church. We will Worship in song, Worship in Communion, and Worship in Bible study. It all starts at 9:30 am.

It was Forest Dell Community Church turn at the nursing home today. We sang a bunch of old hymns the residents could sing along with us. We shared the Word of God from Psalm 139 with them. It's always a good time with those folks. I love my church family. There was a few more of us in the back with some of the residents.

It's not easy asking for help. Most of the time our pride keeps us from admitting we need help. However, when our back is against the wall, and we are in a desperate situation, our pride begins to dissolve.
There's a story in the Bible about a widow and her two sons that were in a desperate situation. She went to a man she knew she could trust, and he told her what to do, it was a miraculous solution to her problem. She believed him, had faith in God, and acted on that faith, and it worked. It's an incredible story with many life lesson's for us today.
This Sunday (4-26-26) we will be looking at this story in 2 Kings 4, to see what we can learn, and use in our life today.
If your in a desperate situation, afraid to ask for help, or your pride is in the way, come to Forest Dell Community Church Sunday morning at 9:30 am to learn the 6 life lessons in this story. You will receive a warm welcome, I guarantee it.
