Foundations. Frameworks. We all have default patterns in our lives, most we are not aware. Intentional life-giving and life-sustaining rituals and rhythms nurture our souls that encompass our bodies and minds and fulfill the great two commandments that encompass ten. What framework are you living from? Are you intentionally aware or living from default?

You're invited! Mind exhaustion, burning shoulders, resistance to handling difficult responses or situations with ease or needing a nap. When these are evident, our margins are exceeded. Too much is on the "daily plate", there is no beautifully decorated rim left to adorn the day. Some life situations require more energy reserves, like caring for special needs or trying to live natural replenishing life-giving rhythms in unconducive or unsupportive environments. If not mindful with intentional boundaries set and margin exceeded, it requires ones own spiritual practices to suffer that keep one grounded and centered in receiving God's replenishing love and living from a place of resting in Him. The dangerous consequence could be an internal famine that impacts ones life purpose; to know and be known by God and make him known by being - not doing. Jesus never gave the mandate for us to build the kingdom, but to live it. Be mindful of your plate today, much is depending upon it!

"It is unlikely that we will deepen our relationship with God in a casual or haphazard manner. There will be a need for some intentional commitment and some reorganization in our lives."

“We mostly spend our lives conjugating three verbs: to Want, to Have, and to Do. Craving, clutching, and fussing, on the material, political, social, emotional, intellectual—even the religious—plane, we are kept in perpetual unrest: forgetting that none of these verbs have any ultimate significance, except so far as they are transcended by and included in, the fundamental verb, to Be: and that Being, not wanting, not having and not doing, is the essence of a spiritual life.” ~ Evelyn Underhill

“To be in solitude is to choose to do nothing. For extensive periods of time. All accomplishment is given up. Silence is required to complete solitude, for until we enter quietness, the world still lays hold of us. When we go into solitude and silence we stop making demands on God. It is enough that God is God and we are His.” ~ Ruth Haley Barton

A gift to share, a gift learned in solitude and openness to God that will not fit under the tree, lessons deeply learned, the silver lining to the process of forgiveness ... It's rarely really ever about you, others can choose to live extravagantly more for themselves. With this understanding, even with a tender soul, compassion can be birthed, sometimes lived out of necessity from a distance, because we all know that from that limited view at some time in our own lives, that view can not only be extremely small, but lonely. That way of life is filled with a plethora of hints given of one trying to prove worthiness, and then trying to impose proving worth on others. Instead, choose to see all through eyes of gratitude, and learn to find and watch the roses bloom along the way, and then give those roses away...

The sweetness, joy, and expectancy of Advent is to be content in "just wait." Slowing to just "being" in his Nearness, is enough for now.
