Patmos may look like a small Greek island today, but it holds a huge place in Christian history.

After being exiled for preaching Jesus Christ, the Apostle John was sent here by the Roman Empire. Instead of silencing him, God gave him one of the most powerful prophetic revelations in all of Scripture.

From this island came the Book of Revelation — a message about the return of Christ, the final judgment, and the ultimate victory of God’s Kingdom.

What Rome meant for punishment, God used for prophecy. ✝️🔥

Revelation 1:9 — “I, John, both your brother and companion in the tribulation and kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was on the island that is called Patmos for the word of God and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.” (NKJV)

Read that again.

Entertainment isn't the problem.

Substitution is.

We binge shows.

Scroll endlessly.

Fill every silent moment with noise.

Anything to avoid being alone with God.

We say we want more of Him.

But the moment life slows down, we reach for another distraction.

Another video.

Another notification.

Another escape.

Here's the uncomfortable truth:

If the presence of God doesn't satisfy you, the world always has another distraction ready.

Ravenhill wasn't saying Christians can't enjoy life.

He was exposing what we run to for joy.

What do you reach for first when your soul is restless?

God...

or distraction?
