Couldn’t have said it any better. Come join us!

Whenever I had a hard time growing up or in college, my mom would always tell me, “You need to get involved in a group at church.” Naturally, I would roll my eyes because when I’m stressed, my instinct is to isolate myself and avoid people altogether.

But as the saying goes… OMG, my mother was right the whole time.

Church has truly become one of the best places for healing in my life, and the people at Mountain Brook Baptist Church are some of the kindest, most genuine people you will ever meet.

Lately, I’ve jumped into serving with both the VBS snack committee and Cooks on a Mission, and these past two days have been busy in the best way!

Yesterday, our VBS crew made 400 cupcakes for Vacation Bible School — yes, we’re expecting around 400 kids this year! There is something so special about watching people come together to serve with joy and excitement.

Today, I spent time with Cooks on a Mission, where we made sausage quiche and sausage-and-cheese breakfast sandwiches. Cooks on a Mission is such a wonderful ministry made up of incredible women from our church who gather on Fridays to prepare take-and-bake meals for busy families. During the school year, we make meals that can be picked up throughout the week, and everything is absolutely delicious. Some of my personal favorites are the cherry almond scones and the squash casserole!

If you’re local and looking for community, encouragement, or just a really good freezer meal, go check us out. 🤍 Cooks On A Mission

2025 brought many changes to our mission, including church renovations and kitchen updates, an extended kitchen closure, and the retirement of our fearless leaders, Aimee Turner and Kim Hardwick. We are regrouping, reorganizing and preparing to start back strong.

We are excited to share that the Cooks are back in the kitchen preparing delicious dishes once again. We will continue offering many of your longtime favorites while also introducing new recipes that we hope will quickly become favorites as well.

This year our pickup process will look a bit different. There will be no preorders or pickup lines. Instead, COAM has purchased a standing freezer that will be located in the corridor by the rear elevator between the reception area and Moebes Hall. The freezer will be open most Fridays and any time the Cooks are working. Beginning February 27, 2026, you are welcome to stop by at your convenience to make your selection. You may also visit during the week by checking in with the church receptionist for assistance.

As always, payment for your items may be made by cash or check made payable to MBBC, with “COAM” noted on it.

We look forward to a wonderful year ahead and are grateful for the opportunity to continue sharing our food with you.

Selections Available Beginning February 27:

Cherry Almond Scones
Bacon Cheddar Scones
Sausage Quiche
Chicken Chili
French Market Sandwiches
Baked Ziti
Mama Lynn’s Chocolate Chip Cookie dough
“The Cake Lady” Cheesecake by the slice
COAM House Seasoning

Thank you for your continued support!

Closet clean out = kingdom impact! ✨

We are looking for casual shirts, shorts, sweaters, pajamas/lounge wear, jeans, workout clothes, coats, leggings, underwear, socks, and bras in adult sizes M-XL. Items can be dropped off at Mountain Brook Baptist Church.
