This week we are addressing the reality that there is absolute truth. Yesterday, we concluded that if we are going to find the truth, we have to stop looking within ourselves and start looking to Jesus. We know that Jesus focused His entire life on doing the will of His Father.

In John 4, Jesus’ disciples were concerned about Him, and they were urging Him to eat something. Jesus told them that He had food that they didn’t know about. When they questioned where this food came from, Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to finish His work.”

Jesus sets a powerful example here; His attitude reminds me of David’s prayer in Psalm 25. Show me YOUR WAYS, teach me YOUR PATHS, lead me in YOUR TRUTH. If we hope to live out the truth that saves, we need to look to the scriptures alone and develop an attitude like David had and strive for the resolve of Christ to do His Father’s will.

While filling out your June calendar, please consider penciling in our Summer Gospel Meeting! The week of June 21-28, the Blue Springs church of Christ will be meeting for a series of special worship services with gospel-centered preaching. If you have been wanting to visit our congregation and learn more about us, this is a perfect opportunity!

Throughout the meeting, you will hear preaching from our guest speaker Bro. Brad Shockley. We invite you to bring your Bibles, follow along, and learn what God’s plan is for you. Please bring your family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ!

📢 Are you new to the Rockcastle County/Mt. Vernon area and looking for a church? Maybe you’ve lived here your whole life and you’re ready to work on your relationship with God. You are invited to visit the Blue Springs Church of Christ! We meet every Sunday at 10 and 6 at 6859 Sand Springs Road, just 7 miles south of Mount Vernon. 📍

➡️ Simply stated, we love Jesus and He is worthy of our surrendered lives. Our congregation exists to proclaim the death, resurrection, and glorification of God's Son, Jesus Christ, in our community (1 Corinthians 11:26). Through pure and simple gospel preaching and striving to be like Jesus, we want to share the word of God with all people! (1 Timothy 2:3-4). 📖

➡️ Our congregation is united in our love for Jesus and each other. In a world filled with pain and suffering, we work together to show the world the hope that lies in the glorious Kingdom of our Lord. When each one of us enters that kingdom by coming into contact with the blood of Jesus Christ, God gives us the promise that nothing on earth can separate us from His love if we remain faithful to Him (Romans 8:37-39). When life on earth comes to an end, those who love God will be raised from the dead to live with Him forever (1 Peter 1:3-5).

➡️ We are all striving to develop the attitudes necessary to promote and maintain unity in the Kingdom. It is our prayer that all of God's children would "speak the same thing," and that no earthly divisions would come between us as we worship and serve God (1 Corinthians 1:10). 🤝

➡️ We strive to be Christians only – to base our faith, doctrine, and practice on the Bible only, for only on this foundation can we truly be one (Ephesians 2:19-22, 4:1-16). We believe that if each of us submits fully to Christ, all dividing walls between us will crumble as we work together in the hope of our coming resurrection (1 John 5:1-5). 📖

➡️ Each time we come assemble together, it is our priority to worship God side by side in spirit and in truth (John 4:23-24). Each item of worship is designed by God and conducted according to His divine instruction to glorify Him and encourage each other. All of our members worship together, regardless of age or gender.

We are only two months away from our 7th Annual Young People’s Meeting! The Blue Springs Church of Christ invites you, your family, and your friends to a weekend of worship and learning! 🤝

Join us for a special series of worship services centered on the gospel of Jesus Christ, built around the powerful question: “What manner of persons ought you to be?” (2 Peter 3:11) 🤔

Whether you are young or just young at heart, this meeting is designed to strengthen your faith, deepen your understanding of the scriptures, and encourage you to live as God calls you to live. 📖
