**PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT**
On or around the first week of August we plan to close 27th Street from Logan Street south, past the south limits of the Mt Vernon Police Station project in order to relocate the south leg of the Logan and 27th Street intersection.
27th Street will be closed from Logan approximately 1000' allowing only rear alley access to 2 houses on 27th street and only north access to the Police station construction site.
Due to an east bound lane closure at the intersection of 27th and Logan Street, Logan Street from 29th to 27th will be closed and will only allow local traffic and no east bound traffic will be allowed in these 2 blocks other that residence that live on Logan street.
Traffic control devices that comply with The Manual for Uniform Traffic Control Devices and IL DOT standards will be used to redirect traffic around this construction and ensure that traffic doesn't mistakenly enter the construction zone.
This construction is scheduled to be completed in 1 phase that will last approximately 5 weeks.

Ron was David Shores Brother-in-law and attended our church several times. He was a good friend, a fun guy and will certainly be missed.

We had a good conversation this morning about other churches and how they gain reputations.
I mentioned a church that was getting a reputation and someone from that church mentioned what all that church was doing for the people in the community, its congregation, etc.
I then mentioned that my info was from Facebook and all I really knew was what I had read on face book.
Too many of us, me included, read something and pass it along. We then find out it was misinformation, or we made a wrong judgment
there's no way to correct our mistake.
I've decided if I haven't attended a church and know first-hand I need to keep quiet about it or at the very least give my source..

We had our monthly "Coffee Gathering" this morning and although there were only a few of us I believe everyone had a good time and conversations.
The next one will be the 2nd Tuesday of August, 9am, so make plans to attend.
