Excuse our mess while our historic church's steeple is being worked on this week. Please avoid parking in our main parking lot or around the church during this week as we're trying to leave as much access to the building as possible for the necessary lift equipment. Also, be aware that we have not been able to check for nails but hope to once the work is finished. We should be back to normal on Sunday! Thank you for your understanding during this time.

Please join us for our Easter services this week. Tonight we're gathering for our Maundy Thursday services at 6 pm in our Fellowship Hall. On Sunday, we will have our Sunrise Service at 7 am at the Fir-Conway Lutheran Cemetery and then our Easter Worship service in our Fellowship Hall at 10 am. We will have baked treats and coffee available before our worship service.

Many of you might remember that we held a blessing of the quilts last October for our Lutheran World Relief mission quilts. Tucked in the batch were a few lap quilts for Hospice of the Northwest, too. We are so pleased to support the work they do to help our community members. We wanted to share our latest sweet little hospice quilt, destined to warm and comfort someone in our community.

🚨 URGENT NEED: Flood Response Shelter Supplies 🚨

As flooding continues across Skagit County, more families and individuals are seeking safety in our emergency shelters. We urgently need essential items to support them:

🛏 Twin bedding (new or gently used)
☕️ Ground coffee, tea, milk
🍎 Nonperishable adult & kid-friendly snacks
📦 Gallon-size Ziplock bags
🔌 Heavy-duty power strips
🛌 Air mattresses + electric pump

📍 Drop-off location: Central United Methodist Church

⚠️FIR ISLAND CLOSURE ⚠️

Fir Island access will close at 2:00pm today, Thursday December 11th. The road will be closed at Fir Island Rd at D**e Rd and Fir Island Rd at Best Rd (Rexville Grange). The road closure will be manned by National Guard personnel and access to the island will be through an identification verification checkpoint for access at each closure point.

The LEVEL 3 GO evacuation is still in effect for the alert designated areas of Conway and Fir Island and evacuation is strongly encouraged.
If you need assistance or information, please contact the Conway Emergency Operations Center at the Conway fire station located at 21020 Greenfield Street, or by phone at 360-445-4345.

The current evacuation shelter for the Conway area is located at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 1700 East Hazel St in Mt Vernon.

La carretera estará cerrada en Fir Island Rd con D**e Rd y en Fir Island Rd con Best Rd (Rexville Grange).

El cierre será supervisado por personal de la Guardia Nacional, y el acceso a la isla se permitirá únicamente mediante verificación de identificación (incluyendo la comprobación de tu dirección) en cada punto de control.

La evacuación de NIVEL 3 – GO continúa activa para las áreas designadas de Conway y Fir Island. Se recomienda evacuar con urgencia (lo más pronto posible).

If your home has flooded, please use and share these tips to help keep you and loved ones safe and healthy.

1. Turn off all utilities before re-entering.

2. Avoid touching flood water, it may contain sewage and harmful chemicals. Wash hands before eating.

3. Flooded private water system or well? Only use bottled, boiled (rolling boil for 1 minute), or treated water.

4. Mold can grow within 24-48 hours after a flood. Open windows and doors and pump out water after flood waters recede.

5. Wear an N95 mask, gloves, goggles, and protective gear when cleaning.

Check in with neighbors who may need help, clean water, a ride, a hug, or all of the above!
