Greetings! The response to our post about our quilts going to Spokane has been tremendous! Thank you to everyone who has responded with their blessings, comments, likes, sharing with others, and opting to follow our page.
Let us introduce ourselves! We have been serving the Fir Island-Conway communities since 1888, with our church building being in service since 1916. We are a proud part of the Northwest Washington Synod, ELCA, and Pastor Kristi Lambing was called to serve as our pastor for the last 5 years. And our music chair would love it if we mentioned that our organ is exceptionally fine.
We support our local community throughout the year with events such as the Back-to-School supplies drive. We have events throughout the year such as our Fall Harvest Bazaar (October 17th) and our Harvest Dinners in November. And our quilters are small in number but mighty in their efforts.
We welcome you to join us on September 20th from 11 to 2:30 for our open house. We will be celebrating the generous gift that allowed us to refresh and remodel our sanctuary earlier this year, as well as our 138th birthday.
Thank you again for your blessings, and we wish you God's peace in return- those of you who are new to us and those of you who have been a part of our Facebook community for a while.

We're pivoting from shipping quilts we finished this year to Lutheran World Relief to sending them instead to the Mission Community Outreach Center in Spokane. We want to support the folks in our state who are having to rebuild after the devastating wildfires. We are so thankful to our member Diane, who is taking our quilts to Spokane as part of her visit to that area.
We are sending 12 quilts and 10 baby/youth size quilts. Due to the accelerated shipment date of these quilts, we will not be blessing them during one of our worship services. Please keep these quilts in your prayers and pray that they will bring comfort, warmth, and love to those who receive them.
If you have the capacity, the Red Cross and Lutheran Disaster Relief are taking donations. And, if you want to know more about the wonderful work that MCOC does in Spokane, their website is www.4mission.org

Looking for something to do this summer on Sundays? Join us!! Our archery church is returning for the third year and we look forward to you joining us. We'll be set up at 11:30 in the parking area behind our sanctuary. It's beginner friendly and suitable for folks aged 6 and up. We're saying goodbye tomorrow to a beloved, longtime member and treasured person in our valley, Solveig Lee. We look forward to sharing our memories of Solveig.

Mrs.Wolden with our preschool graduates that will be going onto kindergarten. This is her 26 year with the preschool program.

Our preschool has been busy this month.
We had a helicopter land across from the Preschool that they all got to sit in. Then we had a fireman and fire truck come and we all got to sit in the truck and ride around the parking lot with lights and sirens on😀
Then ended farm day with two Farmers bringing tractors that the kids got to ride in and baby calves that they also got to feed.

Excuse our mess while our historic church's steeple is being worked on this week. Please avoid parking in our main parking lot or around the church during this week as we're trying to leave as much access to the building as possible for the necessary lift equipment. Also, be aware that we have not been able to check for nails but hope to once the work is finished. We should be back to normal on Sunday! Thank you for your understanding during this time.

Please join us for our Easter services this week. Tonight we're gathering for our Maundy Thursday services at 6 pm in our Fellowship Hall. On Sunday, we will have our Sunrise Service at 7 am at the Fir-Conway Lutheran Cemetery and then our Easter Worship service in our Fellowship Hall at 10 am. We will have baked treats and coffee available before our worship service.

Many of you might remember that we held a blessing of the quilts last October for our Lutheran World Relief mission quilts. Tucked in the batch were a few lap quilts for Hospice of the Northwest, too. We are so pleased to support the work they do to help our community members. We wanted to share our latest sweet little hospice quilt, destined to warm and comfort someone in our community.

We're ready for our first worship service in the Fellowship Hall during our long-awaited sanctuary repairs. Please join us in the Fellowship Hall starting this Sunday, January 4th, at 10 am.
