SUNDAY SERVICE, JUNE 7, 2025, 10 a.m.:
“FLOWER COMMUNION”
Julie and Jon Boles will lead the annual "Flower Communion" service. The Flower Communion is a favorite ceremony among Unitarian Universalists. and a statement of community and tradition. Attendees are invited to bring a flower to the Sunday service or to take one from the vase provided. Each person places his or her flower in a shared vase. At the end of the service, each person takes home a flower other than the one that he or she brought, signifying that, as no two flowers are alike, so no two people are alike, yet each makes a unique contribution.
We welcome you to meet with us at 1600 Isabella Avenue in Mt Vernon as we gather in community. Also join us downstairs after the service for snacks, coffee, and conversation.
Do you consider yourself “Spiritual But Not Religious?” If so, then you will likely enjoy and appreciate the Mount Vernon Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. Unitarian Universalism is a liberal spiritual tradition that was formed in 1961 from the consolidation of two American late 18th and early 19th Century Christian denominations: Unitarianism and Universalism. Unitarian Universalists value each individual’s spiritual journey. We believe there is no one right way to lead a spiritual life. Everyone is welcome to this gathering of community which seeks peace and justice for all persons.
