On Sunday, Pastor shared about "Living the New Creation Now". We are called to be Christ's ambassadors. God has entrusted the work into our hands. By the power of the Holy Spirit we are sent out into the world as evidence of God's new work already unfolding.

Recently our church leadership designed some funds from a bequest to launch a trial internship opportunity. Then a special gift was given to help grow the internship program, before we had even hired our first intern! We shared this information at both Cornell events this past week. If you know a local college student looking to grow their skills and make a little money, pass this along!

Paid Children & Youth Ministry Internship positions at
The United Methodist Church of Mount Vernon

Purpose: To foster more connections between the church and college students while meeting needs of critical ministry areas.

Eligibility: Any current full-time college student age 18 and up may apply to be considered.

Children & Youth Ministry Intern: Strengthen our children and youth ministries.
Sunday Mornings from 9:30-11:
Assist or lead in Sunday School classes. $15 an hour.

Wednesday Evenings from 6:15-8:15:
Assist or lead at our Rooted Middle School Youth Group. $15 an hour. Supper included!

Children and Youth Ministries Support:
Posting to social media, handling Rooted Registrations, making Canvas and other graphics for programming, helping to research and choose curriculum, helping with Family Sunday prep, etc. ($15 an hour.)

Pastor Vicki and Ann Currie represented our church at the Cornell Wellness Fair today. They gave away lots of goodies plus plenty of information about our church! Plus, Pastor got in a little bit of Jenga and we got to hang out with friends from First Presbyterian Church of Mount Vernon, Iowa!
