Forgiveness isn't just something we extend to others. Forgiveness is something we must first receive ourselves. To receive forgiveness is to be willing to be healed.

Tomorrow, we begin our new sermon series on forgiveness.

Forgiveness is one of the most important and challenging practices of the Christian faith. At some point, every one of us will need to receive it and extend it to others.

The good news is that our ability to forgive begins with God's forgiveness toward us. Because we have been forgiven, we can choose to forgive. So the next time you're wrestling with whether to offer grace to someone who has hurt you, remember the grace that has already been extended to you.
