A blessed Lord's Day morning to one and all!

The 18th chapter of Matthew's Gospel teaches us much about the life we live in community as the Lord's followers. One important lesson we learn is the call we have towards greatness in God's kingdom, not through our work and effort, but our humbly being like children who patiently trust and trustingly love our Heavenly Father who so abundantly loves us.

Join us today for worship as we receive the Lord's Gifts of love through Word and Sacrament. Having confessed Jesus as the Christ, Peter in today's Gospel is taught by Jesus what being the Christ exactly means--the way of the cross. And as we hear this word as well, we are called to the life of discipleship where we too take up our crosses and follow the Lord, being lead ever forward through this life to the life which awaits us forever.

A blessed Lord's Day morning to one and all!

In this morning's Gospel, we hear of Simon Peter's great confession of faith: "You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God." With Peter, we too are invited to tell all what we believe about Jesus, but more than that, as we confess Jesus as Lord, we also are reminded Who it is that we belong to. Let us not only confess Jesus, but rejoice that we, through Jesus, are children of God.
