What Are You Looking For?
Easter starts with a question.
The women show up early, carrying spices. That tells you everything. They were not expecting a miracle… they were expecting a body. In their minds, the story had already ended.
Then the angel says, “Why do you seek the living among the dead?” (Luke 24:5)
That question wasn’t only for them. It’s for us.
Because you can be close to Jesus and still look for life in the wrong places.
We do it all the time. We look for peace, purpose, identity… but we keep going back to things that cannot give life. And the truth is simple… if it can die, it cannot give you life.
They didn’t only go to the wrong place… they carried the wrong expectation. Jesus had already told them He would rise, but grief had a louder voice than truth in that moment.
And we’re not that different. We say we believe, but sometimes we still expect things to stay dead. No change. No healing. No new beginning.
Then everything shifts.
“He is not here… He has risen.” (Luke 24:6)
The tomb is empty, and Jesus is alive.
And if He’s alive, then life isn’t something you have to chase down… it’s found in Him.
So here’s the question… what are you looking for?
Because you won’t find life in what’s dead.
Stop going back to the tomb, He’s not there!
He’s alive… and because He lives, you can too.
