Sunday
What Are You Looking For?

Easter starts with a question.

The women show up early, carrying spices. That tells you everything. They were not expecting a miracle… they were expecting a body. In their minds, the story had already ended.

Then the angel says, “Why do you seek the living among the dead?” (Luke 24:5)

That question wasn’t only for them. It’s for us.

Because you can be close to Jesus and still look for life in the wrong places.

We do it all the time. We look for peace, purpose, identity… but we keep going back to things that cannot give life. And the truth is simple… if it can die, it cannot give you life.

They didn’t only go to the wrong place… they carried the wrong expectation. Jesus had already told them He would rise, but grief had a louder voice than truth in that moment.

And we’re not that different. We say we believe, but sometimes we still expect things to stay dead. No change. No healing. No new beginning.

Then everything shifts.

“He is not here… He has risen.” (Luke 24:6)

The tomb is empty, and Jesus is alive.

And if He’s alive, then life isn’t something you have to chase down… it’s found in Him.

So here’s the question… what are you looking for?

Because you won’t find life in what’s dead.

Stop going back to the tomb, He’s not there!

He’s alive… and because He lives, you can too.

Friday
It Is Finished

Good Friday reminds us of the weight of the cross.

Jesus gave His life, and with His final breath He said, “It is finished.” Not a statement of defeat, but a declaration of victory. The work of redemption was complete.

In that moment, everything shifted. The veil in the temple was torn from top to bottom, opening the way for us to come near to God. The earth shook, and even the tombs were opened. Scripture tells us that the dead were raised. Dead men walked.

That is the power of the cross.

What looked like an ending was the beginning. Because He died, death no longer has the final word. Because He finished the work, we are not finished.

Dead men can live.

“And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. And the earth shook, and the rocks were split. The tombs also were opened.”
(Matthew 27:51–52, ESV)

Today we remember the cross, and we hold onto this truth…
It is finished. And because it is finished, new life has begun.

Thursday
The Table of Grace

This is the night of the Last Supper.

Jesus gathered with His disciples, broke bread, and shared the cup. He washed their feet. He served, even knowing what was coming.

This is the heart of the gospel. Love expressed through humility and sacrifice.

Before the cross, there was a table.

And he took bread… and said, ‘This is my body, which is given for you.’

Luke 22:19, ESV

Wednesday
The Quiet Before the Cross

Scripture gives fewer details about this day, and that silence is powerful.

While secret plots and betrayal were forming, Jesus remained steady. Nothing caught Him off guard.

There are moments when God seems quiet. Do not mistake silence for absence.

Even in the unseen, God is working.

“The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything…”
Philippians 4:5–6

Tuesday
Truth, Tension, Teaching

On this day, Jesus taught openly in the temple. He spoke a truth that caused religious leaders to despise Him. Even as opposition grew stronger, Jesus didn't avoid conflict. This would have been the easy way, a way to keep peace… but he wasn't a peace keeper, He was a peacemaker. Real Peace can only be found in the truth.

Holy Week reminds us that truth does not bend under pressure. It stands firm, even when it costs everything.

Listen closely today. Jesus is still speaking.

“Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.”
Matthew 24:35

The Week That Changed Everything

Monday
Palm Sunday is complete, and Jesus enters the final days before the cross.
His disciples would think their teacher was a victim, but time would reveal this would make Him the Savior.

His steps are intentional. Every word carries weight.

This is the week redemption is secured. His obedience is tested, and it reveals Christ's unfailing love.

Take time today to slow down and remember. This is not an ordinary week. It is the turning point of history.

“Now is my soul troubled… Father, glorify your name.” - John 12:27–28

Northwest Church Family, we have exciting news!
We are excited to welcome Andrés and Selah Russi, along with their son Raphael, to Northwest Church.
Andres and Selah will be serving in our Next Gen ministries, helping strengthen and develop our youth and children’s programs. Both Andres and Selah are graduates of Southeastern University and Dream City College in Phoenix, Arizona, and they bring a genuine love for ministry and the local church. Their little one, Raphael, was born in August, and we are grateful to have this family join our church community.

This is an important step forward for our Next Gen ministries, and we believe God will use Andres, Selah, and their family in a powerful way here at Northwest.
