能登半島地震復興支援のチャリティーディナーで、ネイサンくんと演奏させていただきました。両親の故郷の危機のため、微力ながら力になる機会をいただき感謝です。

共演したシカゴ琴グループとorihanaも素晴らしかった。素晴らしい出会いもあり、また久しぶりにお目にかかる方もありとても素晴らしい夜でした。180人もお客様が来てくださったそうです。コロナ以来、すっかりライブ演奏が減りましたが、こういうギグはもっとやりたいな。

ネイサンくんとジャズやブルース系の曲を演奏できたのもとても嬉しかった。

I played with Nathan at Noto disaster relief fundraising dinner.

Thank you for the opportunity to give me help due to the crisis in my parents' hometown.

The Chicago Koto Group and orihana, who co-starred, were also wonderful. There was a wonderful encounter, and there were also people who met for the first time in a long time, and it was a very wonderful night. It seems that 180 people came. Since Corona, the number of live performances has completely decreased, but I want to do more gigs like this.

I was also very happy to be able to play jazz and blues songs with Nathan.

Our new event, Mindful Monday, is tomorrow. (6-7 PM, CST). We'll do:
- Fun Buddhist Activity
- Reflection
- Reflective group sharing (hoza)
- Mindful chant of Namu Myoho Range Kyo

Here is a fun volunteer opportunity! for today, Saturday, 10a-12p at RK Chicago.

On our yard facing the busy Euclid Ave., Kyohei will be setting up a canopy tent with a banner that says, "Ask Us About Buddhism" and randomly taking up questions under the tent. Let's see how many curious people show up or simply throw him questions from their cars! If you happen to be available, sit with him and chat with random public audience!

According to him, an essential point of public interaction is this: "Don't respond to their words. Respond to what their heart is seeking." Let's see what on earth he means by this by being there! Make sure to invite them to the evening event of the same day: "Healing Fire Ritual & Chant" as announced below.

This can be a life-transforming moment for you.

"Healing Fire Ritual & Chant" at RK Chicago (on site only) is tomorrow, Saturday, from 7:00 to 8:30 PM.

We will start with a fun group activity followed by a Buddhist story and reflection. After that, all of us write attachments that we want to let go of on a sheet of paper and fold it so that nobody else can see it.

Then we will do several minutes of meditative slow chant of Namu Myoho Renge Kyo. Toward the end of the chant, each of us goes to and greets the Buddha to "offer" your paper (symbolizing letting go) at the altar. After the group chant, we will take the offered papers to a fire pit and burn them.

This is open to the public, adults of all ages and teenagers. Anyone is welcome.
