The Doors to Heaven are open to all…
So are ours.

Our services are designed to make everyone feel welcome and at home. Prayers are lively, engaging and inclusive - Hebrew and English prayer-books, inspiring tunes and English readings throughout - so all can absorb the experience at their own level and pace. A reminder that we all stand equally beloved before G‑d.

Our community mourns the passing of Senator Lindsey Graham.

He was a fighter. For more than two decades he served South Carolina and he never softened his convictions to make himself easier to like. He did not run from a hard fight and he never pretended to be something he wasn’t. People across the political spectrum saw him differently and not everyone agreed with him. But everyone respected him.

For the Jewish people he was more than an ally. He was a friend. When antisemitism showed its face he named it without flinching. When Israel stood under fire he stood with her. He understood that the safety of the Jewish people is not a slogan but a matter of justice and he acted on that conviction again and again.

Here in Charleston he was a dear friend of Chabad. We felt his warmth and his loyalty up close and we will miss him deeply.

May his memory be a blessing. And may the causes he championed - a strong Israel, a nation that names hatred for what it is, and the courage to stand alone when standing alone is right - live on in all of us.
With heavy hearts,
Rabbi Yossi Refson

AN EVENING WITH NATAN SHARANSKY
A Historic Charleston Event
Wednesday, May 13 | 7:00 PM | Center for Jewish Life - 477 Mathis Ferry Rd. Mt pleasant, SC 29464

Refusenik. Prisoner of Zion. Israeli Statesman. Political Leader. Hero of the Jewish People.

Join us for a rare and extraordinary evening with Natan Sharansky—legendary Soviet refusenik, fearless human rights activist, former prisoner of the Soviet regime, and one of Israel’s most distinguished political leaders.

After enduring years in Soviet prison for the crime of being a proud Jew and seeking freedom, Sharansky went on to help shape the future of the Jewish state as a prominent Israeli politician, government minister, and public intellectual. His life story is one of courage, conviction, and extraordinary historical impact.

For one remarkable night in Charleston, hear directly from a man who not only changed history, but helped lead Israel through some of its most consequential years.
