We are dedicated to serving the poor, widows and fatherless in the Mount Pleasant area. We have volunteered our hands in God’s service. We serve in many directions as prayer leads us. We have a food and clothing bank serving all the local churches, Tuesday night Bible study, a first Friday Praise and Worship each month for the young teens with live Christian music. We mentor former prisoners and a
ddicts in scripture and decent living, giving them a place to live and thrive while learning how to become useful members of society. We provide transportation to and from church for many seeking God’s word. We are stocked with donated blessings to share with those in need. Most of our items are donated by local churches and members. These blessings include food, clothes, shoes, furniture, appliances, plates, kitchen needs and Bibles. I believe one of our most important functions is to listen; people need to feel like they have a purpose and are important. Finding the emptiness in their lives and filling the void with a prayer changes their lives. It’s not an easy ministry; however, if God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31)
We host the Mt. Pleasant Pastors Fellowship once a month to meet and discuss our common purpose in our community. We are seeking to have their help with our mission and mentorship. Many of the churches are providing support and volunteers each month. Scriptural basis for our ministry: James 1:27- Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. Acts 1:8- But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Mark 16:15- He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.
