A room is just a room until it’s filled with purpose.

What we love most isn’t the space itself, it’s the women who walk through the doors. The conversations, prayers, encouragement, friendships, and moments that remind us we’re not meant to do life alone.

We had an incredible time this past April at The Islands Revival to witness rooms being filled with people hungry for hope, community, and the presence of God.

Because the vision has never been the room.

Meet Joanne ✨

What started as a simple desire to help women draw closer to Jesus became something much bigger than Joanne could have imagined.

In 2000, Joanne founded Drawing Near to God with a heart for creating a place where women could find biblical truth, authentic community, and encouragement for every season of life. More than two decades later, that mission continues to impact women across generations. Joanne is passionate about teaching God’s Word, helping women discover their identity in Christ, and reminding them that they never have to walk alone. When she’s not leading studies or pouring into this community, she’s a proud mom of three and “Yiayia” to her 11 grandchildren. 💙

If you’ve ever attended a Bible study, opened a devotional, or found encouragement through DNG, you’ve experienced a piece of Joanne’s heart. We’re so grateful for her faithfulness, leadership, and the countless ways she helps women draw near to God every day!
