Happy Labor Day from Hope Ministries🤩

Often we view the holiday as an opportunity to rest from our labor. A small break at the end of summer before the fall & winter holiday season.

Labor Day has a spiritual meaning focused on honoring the dignity of human work, practicing holy rest, and recognizing labor as a way to partner with the Creator.

May today be filled with rest, laughter, fun, fellowship..but mostly gratitude to God for the dignity of work.

Today we are going to shake things up a bit 😜

I want to spotlight one of our own, Women & Family Minister, Misty Massey ❤️

Misty, not only always looks fabulous in cheetah but loves with her whole heart.

Misty has been with Hope for four years and goes above and beyond in her service to the Hope families and fellow teammates.

Whether it is bringing it in the coaching room⚡️, taking seniors to appointments, walking (and babysitting) dogs for out of town seniors..Misty is a voice of hope and encouragement for all who cross her path.

Outside of her work hours, you will find her at the gym, hosting a get-together, or jumping in the car to go out of state to be “Mimi.”

Misty is a true asset to Hope and all who know her. Today we celebrate her..just because 😉

Thank you Misty for your leadership, passion to serve and mostly for being and image bearer of Christ to all. We love you and value your service!

Tonight, we are back talking about codependency.

We are going to veer off the main theme of the book a bit & discuss what it looks like when people begin to be set free from codepency.

What happens when your friends that always say “yes” begin to set healthy boundaries?

How do you feel the people around you begin to thrive and no longer need you to fix their problems or save them from the consequences of their own choices?

As a parent, what happens if, instead of catching your children before they fall, you allow them to walk through natural consequences?

Let’s Talk About It Tuesday….

Let’s talk about codependency.

Since we have started this class, it is stirring up..and we are BARELY into it 😲

I was reminded this morning of when someone told me, “Don’t get in God’s way in the Name of Jesus.”

I didn’t get it then. I love people so much that all I wanted to do was help, serve, fix…rescue 🥴

That’s not what I am called to do.

I am called to love God and love people with His love to the best of my ability.

Sometimes, that means getting out of the way so God can do what only God can do.

When we catch people before they fall, cushion the fall, or allow ourselves to be pulled by need, we miss the opportunity to see God move and we rob the other person of the chance to grow..to change.

It’s not easy, because not everyone will get it.

And that’s ok.

A Day in the Life…

A recurring theme among the moms lately is time management. How to manage all the things when life gets full.

Now that the kids are back in school, and the moms are preparing to start a new semester, it is a delicate balance.

Two moms yesterday talked about stewardship. Both were speaking of different areas, but the concept was the same. We are called to steward all the things God has blessed us with, whether that is cars, homes, finances, time, relationships, and..and…and…

Hope Mom and Mom on the Grounds, Amanda says one of the most important areas of stewardship is parenting. We are called to steward the relationships with our children, their well-being, and of course their spiritual growth.

So, amidst the fullness of this beautiful life, aside from our relationship with God, our role as parent is top priority. Let’s steward these beautiful little lives to the glory of God, and watch them grow into mighty Kingdom kids!
