How terrified do we get when a storm suddenly crashes into our lives? Do we have faith to trust that the Lord will calm it? Do we beleive that He has a mighty plan in it all? Can we sleep calmly like He did in the boat knowing the Father keeps us in His loving arms despite what we are going through...waiting to get to the other side of the lake?

MARK 1:35-39

When the world seems like everyone is tugging at you, with all life's expectations and other people's needs....go to your solitary place like Jesus did. Pray. Jesus went to a quiet place, where he could hear. He listened to what he was to do and followed that direction. Not the direction of what the crowds expected of him. He knew his responsibilities and kept to them. What is God's will for you today? What are the priorities you need to care for? May these scriptures bless you and give you peace.

Reading in the book of 3 John....
Sweet note that the author, John writes in verse 13-14. "I have much to write you, but I do not want to do so with pen and ink. I hope to see you soon and we will talk face-to-face."
He says the same thing in his letter in 2 John. It's not so different than today. If possible, sometimes sharing face to face is just better than texting. ❤

Book of 1 John
I call this the love Book. In this book, He shows us how to recognize love. He first loved us and we now love him. And because we love him we desire to obey the Commandments and to show love to others. This is the most important Commandment as it is written in Matthew 22 :
“‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

As we go through 1John...what is Chapter
2 verses 15-17 all about? "Do not love the world"?
What is "the world"? Is it what God created or the people Jesus died for? No, according to the NIV Study Bible, the world in this context is defined as the realm that is of the sinful nature. The world that is controlled by Satan. It is such a beautiful reminder that all things here on Earth shall pass away, but our love for God is forever. His will for us is real, it is truth, and it is lasting. What do these verses mean to you? Share your thoughts.
