Well folks, the weather is working against us. We had hoped to hold the event rain or shine, but unfortunately, due to the rainy forecast, a significant portion of parade and tree lighting participants are informing us that they will be unable to participate. It has reached a tipping point and with safety in mind, the Newly Elected Mayor and Town Board have made the difficult decision to cancel the festivities for Saturday, December 2. This decision had to be made prior to additional expenditures that the Town could not recuperate. Additionally, an event like this cannot be rescheduled due to road closure coordination months in advance of the event and scheduling of deputies and employees to work at the event. We are just as sad as everyone else, but sometimes it just rains your parade.
