Are you Michal or are you David?

•Michal had legitimate grievances against her father King Saul and against her husband King David. But she let that bitterness build in her heart so that when David brought the ark of the covenant back into her city, she could only see her hatred for him and she completely missed the presence of God.

•David was a man hunted and ran out from his home, his wife, and his inheritance. He had legitimate grievances against King Saul. Rather than letting bitterness build in heart towards Saul, David continuously sought the presence of the Lord. He could have stayed angry at King Saul, he could have killed him, but he didn’t. Therefore he was able to enjoy deep intimacy with God.

It is hard to give up your offense when someone has deeply hurt you. But God can heal you of your brokenness and bitterness. Give it to God so that you don’t miss the ark when it comes into your city!
