Sunset & Serenity: An Evening of Art and Awareness
Join us for a peaceful and inspiring evening at our Sunset at the Cemetery event — where creativity meets clarity. Set in the quiet beauty of our cemetery grounds, this unique gathering invites you to paint a breathtaking sunset while reflecting on life, legacy, and the importance of preparation.
Guided by a local artist and one of our very own employee’s, each guest will receive a canvas, paint supplies, and gentle instruction to create their own sunset masterpiece. No prior experience is needed — just come ready to relax, express yourself, and enjoy the view as the sun dips below the horizon.
As the evening unfolds, we’ll also share thoughtful insights on the importance of preplanning final arrangements. Just as we plan for weddings, retirements, and milestones, preplanning ensures peace of mind for you and your loved ones. It removes emotional and financial stress during difficult times and guarantees your wishes are honored — truly a final gift to your family.
This is a limited-attendance event, reserved for the first 30 registered guests. Light refreshments will be provided, and each participant will take home their painted sunset as a reminder of the beauty of preparation and the serenity that comes with having your “ducks in a row.”

Hello, for those of you whom dont know me, my name is Haley. I work at flint memorial park cemetery as a Family service counselor. You maybe asking yourself “what’s a family service counselor?”

A Family Service Counselor at a cemetery provides emotional support and professional guidance to families making funeral, burial, and memorial arrangements. This role combines compassionate customer service with knowledge of funeral industry procedures and cemetery services.

A Family Service Counselor is a compassionate professional who supports families during times of loss, helping them make informed decisions about final arrangements. With deep empathy and attention to detail, they ensure that each family’s needs are met with dignity and respect, guiding them through every step of the cemetery service process.

As a family service counselor I can also assist in providing peace of mind and comfort while helping you preplan your burial needs. Preplanning your burial may not sound “fun” but it give you a chance to ensure you have what YOU want/ need for when that time comes without putting any financial burden or stress on your family, friends, or whomever you decide to put in charge of your arrangements. As well as ensuring you are taken care of till the very end.

Join us this Memorial Day weekend to honor our veterans at the cemetery. On Sunday, May 25th and Monday May 26th, enjoy "Hotdogs for Heroes" from Noon to 3 PM—free hotdogs while supplies last. Come pay tribute and share gratitude with our local heroes.

We will also have surveys to fill out! We want your voices to be HEARD!
