As we pray for the people of Nepal, if we are so moved, we can also give directly to support relief work. Lutheran Disaster Response is a strong partner that gets resources and personnel directly where its needed. Link to giving is in the comments.

We are horrified and saddened by the news coming from Nepal about the flash flooding today. The ELCA is in contact with our companions and partners in Nepal as the impact continues to unfold. We hold our companions and partners, and the people of Nepal and Tibet in prayer in this incredibly challenging time.

Let us pray:

Loving God, in the communion of Christ, we are joined with the trials and sufferings of all. Be with the people of Nepal and Tibet affected by devastating flash flooding. Protect those who remain in danger, comfort those who grieve, strengthen first responders and aid workers, and guide leaders as they coordinate relief efforts.

Surround our companions and partners with your presence and peace. In the midst of uncertainty and loss, sustain hope, courage, and resilience through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen.

For our group of kiddos in worship we named and prayed for over 30 of our teachers! We also prayed for our principals, bus drivers, paras, maintenance workers and janitors, the people who make our food, and our coaches. We are so grateful for all the caring, committed people who teach our students and keep our spaces safe.

We were exceptionally honored to hear Lydia Cermak, professional horn player, during worship this weekend. For both services, Lydia offered a solo to begin worship, as well as music during communion distribution. We are grateful that she brought her talent to Trinity.

We always appreciate positive, loving and fun notes drawn on our walkways. Its why we have two chalk bins by our main entrances. On the other hand, we don't appreciate notes that are negative, which we've found twice recently on our property. Just a reminder: we encourage art in all forms, but we will swiftly remove anything that is either derogatory or defacing. If its obscene or directed at any person or group, we will notify the local authorities. Also, FYI, we have property cameras with motion capture and infrared (night vision) all around our building and grounds.

Thank you to the young people who stopped by this week to share their love and positivity with us through their art. Seriously, come by anytime and draw on our sidewalks.
