Mission Trip 2026 is a wrap! Our final day was full of work and fun, and we even went up a mountain to celebrate the Eucharist. We met some Ridge Runners, we played in the park, we had a wonderful meal at Christ Episcopal—and, of course, there was ice cream. We are so grateful for your support and your prayers, and we will see you Sunday morning with stories to tell!

Took a trip to “Nature’s Air-Conditioned City,” Bluefield, WV today, where we met with our beloved brother (and former St. Paul’s youth minister) The Rev. Paul Barker and helped out at Christ Episcopal Church, where he is the rector. We also traveled down the street to Union Mission, where we prepared and served lunches and helped sort and organize clothes and other items for an upcoming neighborhood sale. After some R&R at Bluefield City Park, we attended the home opener of the Bluefield Ridge Runners, where not only did we get a W, but we took a train ride around the field and even helped sing Take Me Out to the Ballgame!

Final day at Five Loaves and Two Fishes with a flurry of tasks and a heck of a rainstorm! We were blessed to serve here yet again, and we left our mark on their walls yet again. And speaking of “yet again,” we made another pilgrimage to Sterling Drive-In, followed by a pool party in downtown Welch to end our midweek. Thanks for your continued prayers—on to Bluefield tomorrow!

Mission Trip Day 3 was hot, rainy, and suffused with joy. Our youth-led morning devotion asked the question, “When something frustrated you today, how did you find joy in dealing with it?,” and from completing our greenhouse project, hauling giveaway items, and sampling incredible hydroponic produce at the food bank to a gathering of fellow mission groups in nearby Iaeger for a street party featuring the mayor of Iaeger, joy abounded!
