GladeFest has grown into one of Gladeville’s most beloved annual traditions — a fall celebration that brings together families, neighbors, churches, local schools, and community organizations for a day filled with food, fellowship, and hometown pride. GladeFest has long served as a gathering point for the Gladeville community, reflecting the area’s agricultural heritage and small‑town spirit.
By 2013, GladeFest was already a well‑established event featuring breakfast at Gladeville Elementary, a 5K run benefiting Wilson Central’s Navy JROTC, a farmers’ market, craft vendors, pony rides, children’s inflatables, antique car and tractor contests, and live music — all designed to offer “fun for the entire family” in our small community.
This blend of local history, family activities, and community involvement has continued to define GladeFest in the years since.
🔥Gladeville Methodist Church has played a meaningful role in GladeFest for many years. Longtime members will remember when the Gladeville Methodist Men (GMM) hosted its annual Fish Fry, a tradition that fed crowds and helped support the church’s ministries. As the event evolved, the men transitioned to offering BBQ plate lunches, which have become a popular staple for festival‑goers looking for a warm meal and friendly conversation.
🧁Our Gladeville Methodist Women (GMW) also contribute through their Bake Sale, raising funds that directly support their ministry work throughout the year. Their homemade desserts have become a favorite stop for many who attend GladeFest.
❤️These contributions — from fish fry to BBQ to baked goods — reflect the heart of our church: service, hospitality, and community care.
💚Why GladeFest Matters:💚
GladeFest is more than a festival. It is:
*A celebration of Gladeville’s rural heritage
*A showcase of local talent, crafts, and creativity
*A fundraiser for community groups and school programs
*A place where families make memories
*A reminder of the strength and warmth of small‑town life
GladeFest continues to show what makes Gladeville special — neighbors helping neighbors, families gathering together, and churches serving with purpose. As we prepare for this year’s festival, may we continue to be a church that strengthens our community through kindness, service, and grace.
