This Sunday we're starting a new worship series entitled "Thy Kingdom Come." When Christians pray “Thy Kingdom Come,” they aren’t praying about lines on a map or results in an upcoming election. Like a spring that appears out of nowhere and then carves its own, often unpredictable path, the Kingdom of God comes wherever and whenever the gospel is heard. There the Holy Spirit pours heaven’s best gifts into the hearts of people. When God’s kingdom comes, heavenly springs bring new life on earth.

This coming Sunday is the Day of Pentecost. We'll see how Jesus supplies the spiritual water that satisfies our thirsty souls through his Holy Spirit.

There are moments in time from which there is no going back. Certain events leave our world and our lives changed forever. Jesus’ resurrection is one such moment. When Jesus’ tomb was opened and shown to be empty, it unleashed a flood of blessings on our world that can never and will never be contained. Life’s floodgates have been opened, and they can never be closed.

This week we see how Jesus' empty tomb is the source of life full of meaning.
