It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lenny Smith. He has dedicated his life to his family and the fire house reaching the rank of Fire Police Captain. If Lenny wasn’t at the fire house cooking and being an amazing guy he was either with his family or fishing. We the members of the Relief want to wish Lenny’s family our condolences to include those of us who knew him. The one thing with Lenny was everyone was family that knew him. Rest easy Sir, we got it from here.

Memorial Day is a day we honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice. A day for remembering the liberties we have as a nation because of those who signed that check to include their lives, and that check was cashed at the fullest extent. The unofficial start of summer would not be here had we not taking a day to honor those who gave it their all.

Your Mount Holly Fire Department took place in honoring those who didn’t make it back home. Firefighter Andre Younger and Firefighter/commissioner Joseph Sams had the honor to lay the wreath at veterans park this morning. Followed by various members of the department, commission, and administration were also in attendance for grave site services to honor Lawrence Gladfelter and a service at the Vfw to honor MIA service members.

Us the members of the Mount Holly Fire District salute you the members who didn’t make it back home.
