“Look at the birds of the air- They don’t plant or harvest or store their food in barns, for your Heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable than they are? Can all your worries add a single day to your life? Consider the lilies of the field- they didn’t work or make their clothing. And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown in the fire tomorrow, He will CERTAINLY (emphasis mine) care for you. Why do you have such little faith?” – Matthew 6:26-30

Thank you, Father for this reminder and reality check that You give us! Think about the beautiful birds that are all around us. They are not frantically searching and reasoning on how to make ends meet – they continue to sing their beautiful harmony, each individual and unique. Have you taken notice of the gorgeous carpet of wildflowers and blooming plants around you? They don’t spin around in confusion – they simply ARE! Think of the ocean tide, the air we breathe, the daily sunrise and sunset, the stars (they sing in BEAUTIFUL WORSHIP, by the way!), and the moon rise and set – all of these simply are as well- yet what a splendor and service they render for us each and every day! God does it all, and we humans have NOTHING to do with it, yet our very existence here is completely dependent on it all! We fall short when we miss this! EVERYTHING is and exists and happens by Him and through Him, and He chooses to exhibit His glory through each of us. How in the world do we miss it? By focusing on life instead of the life giver! Jesus said that there is only one way to grow spiritually, and that is through focusing and concentrating on God. Simply put, Jesus is saying, “Do not worry about being of use to others; simply believe on Me,” Pay attention to the Source, and out of you will flow “streams of living water”. (John 7:38) We have to let go of our own reasoning and figuring – our lives are a complete tail spin when we choose to live that way! (If your life is filled with stress, then that is the warning light for you.) Jesus shows us the only way that will ever work – by keeping our eyes and focus on our Father in Heaven! He knows the layout of your day ahead, and if you stay focused on Him instead of the circumstances that WILL occur, you WILL grow in spirit and truth, just as the “lilies of the field,” living through each day simply and unaffected! If you want to be of use to God, maintain the proper relationship with Jesus by staying focused on Him, and HE will make use of every minute you live!

“We’re waiting the arrival of our Savior the Master Jesus Christ, who will transform our earthly bodies into glorious bodies like His own. He’ll make us beautiful and whole
with the same powerful skill by which He is putting everything as it should be, under and around Him.” Philippians 3:20-21

There was a phrase I remember learning way back in Kindergarten that little 5 year old me didn’t like too much… “constructive criticism.” It wasn’t fun to hear how I wasn’t doing something right, and my tender heart would go to tears. But I came to learn that this was an act of love, meant to help build me up (constructive) to be a better person. Just as a furniture refinisher needs to sand down the rough surfaces of a table to make it beautiful, Jesus is doing this in the lives of those who love Him! Open yourself to Jesus to work on your rough spots, even when it requires you to give up some parts of yourself. Trust that, like the Master Craftsman that He is, He knows you better than you know yourself, and the treasures that await you will be worth it!

“You have now become a new person and are always learning more about Christ. You are being made more like Christ. He is the One Who made you.” – Colossians 3:10
Thank you for using and speaking through others in my life. Help me to see through humble eyes and be open to your help. Let me face my shortcomings with open mindedness and trust in Your work that You are doing in me. I Iove you Lord! In Jesus name, amen.

“Give unto the Lord the glory due to His name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.” – Psalm 29:2
“Show me the right path, O Lord; point out the road for me to follow. Lead me by Your truth and teach me, for You are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in You.” – Psalm 25:4-5
Balloons are so fun – seeing a bunch of bright, colorful, filled balloons, you just know someone is celebrating something special! Seeing them always brings a smile to my face, thinking of the person receiving them. The best way to see a balloon is, of course, full and bright! When they are sunken and deflated, they look sad and empty. Balloons need a constant air supply to stay full. So do we, and our source of true fulfillment of EVERYTHING WE NEED can only come from One – our loving and awesome God. He sooooo wants to fill you each day, talk with you, help you, laugh with you, guide you, comfort you. Like that balloon, He wants to be the one to fill you with good thoughts, good ideas, right solutions, love, acceptance, compassion, peace of mind, and SO much more. Our relationship with Him is where we find it all. Listen and take in His words to you, whom He loves and cherishes deeply.
“I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.” Jeremiah 31:3
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.” Matthew 5:6
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9
“For I know the plans I have for you” – this is the Lord’s declaration – “plans for your well being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. You will call to me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. I WILL be found by you” Jeremiah 29:11-14 (emphasis mine)
Like an ever-flowing stream, His love for you is continuous and never ending! Nothing can ever separate you from His love! Feel it lift you today as you walk out each step of this day, with your hand in His. You never walk alone! God bless you!

God is not unjust; He will not forget your and the love you have shown Him as you have helped His people and continue to help them. We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, in order to make your hope sure.” Hebrews 6:10-11

“Consider the postage stamp- its usefulness consists in the ability to stick to one thing till it gets there.” Josh Billings

You haven’t run a marathon until you cross the finish line. You haven’t fully read a new novel until you turn the last page. You are not actually married until you exchange vows and the minister declared you husband and wife. You aren’t an inventor until you dust off the blueprints you sketched and build something. Throughout the Bible, God's word, one of the key points is finishing strong. Paul ran the race of life to win – even though it meant martyrdom. He was not alone. Of the original apostles, only John died of natural causes, but even he was exiled because of his faith.
Are you as good at finishing as you are at starting? Not every endeavor we start requires our follow-through. Faith however, is not one of them. We may never face physical persecution for our Lord’s sake, but each of us has been called to walk with God on the unique path He designed for each of us, and there is no other person on the planet that can take your place! Look to God for all of the hope and strength you need for each moment and don’t give up. You will finish strong to the glorious end!

Lord, I know and am so thankful that you made me to be a finisher, not a quitter. Help me not to give up when things get hard. Thank you that You are my everlasting strength to endure. Through your daily deposit of strength in me I will finish my race strong. In Jesus name, amen.

Bible Hermeneutics- Romans 14

“If we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation. If we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings that we suffer.” 2 Corinthians 1:6-7
Paul was a visible and verbal follower of Christ, (I like the word “transparent” Like saran wrap, you can clearly see through) whose faith and trust in the Lord filled him deeply. Its so important and awesome to see how God transformed him from who he was! NO ONE is too far gone! Paul suffered greatly throughout his life, showing that the term “God doesn’t give you more than you can handle” is simply not true. WE CAN’T HANDLE ANYTHING on our own power – we are completely broken and powerless. His suffering was not in spite of his faith, but because of his faith and obedience to Christ. Paul’s struggles and ours are all directly related to God’s good purposes of using us to minister to others. (I can personally relate that to the mountains that God has allowed through my own life, and all that I have witnessed Him do through it all.) His purposes are never promised to be easy, but they are definitely ALWAYS GOOD, leading us to our finish line, which will be better than we could have ever imagined! When we are fully dependent on God, He is always fully able to guide and provide!

Oh Lord, I am so thankful that you are Faithful and True, and You see me, know me, and love me exactly as I am. I truly need you in my every step, and I trust you to lead me ahead wherever you guide me. I will breathe in Your joy and it will fill me with strength. In Jesus name, amen.
