Some men serve quietly for so long that their presence begins to feel permanent. Bro. Willie Eugene Harrington was one of those men. A steady voice. A faithful servant. A pillar whose life became woven into the very history of the North Broadway Church of Christ.
In the early 1980s, Bro. Willie Harrington stood alongside Bro. Henry Harrington and Bro. Owens Jones as one of the first three elders ordained at North Broadway Church of Christ in Mount Clemens, Michigan. Together, they helped shepherd the congregation through seasons of growth, change, challenge, and victory. Now, with the passing of Bro. Willie Harrington, the last of those three faithful shepherds has gone home to rest.
His legacy is not simply found in titles or years of service, but in the lives he touched through wisdom, humility, consistency, and unwavering faith in God. He belonged to a generation of men who believed that serving the Lord was not occasional work, it was a lifelong commitment.
Today, we honor a husband, father, grandfather, brother, elder, and servant of Christ whose impact will continue long after his earthly journey has ended.
Please keep Sis. Mittie Harrington, Fred (Sonya) Harrington, the grandchildren, Bro. Al Harrington, and the entire Harrington family in your prayers during this difficult season. Pray also for the North Broadway Church family and all who loved and respected him.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23
