“The Passover reminds us that God's people were never saved by their own goodness. Instead, they were saved because they trusted in God's provision through the blood. The blood on the doorpost didn't represent human achievement. It represented God's mercy. In the same way today, we're not saved because of our own goodness. Instead, we are saved by God's mercy and the provision poured out through the blood of Jesus. And every time that we take communion, we are reminded of that truth. Our salvation is not based on what we've done. Instead, it's based entirely on what Jesus has done for us. This is the beauty of the gospel. We were slaves to sin, but through the blood of Jesus, we have been set free.”
