Pastor Leanne update:

The story of Pastor Leanne’s expedient, and dramatic recovery continues with her discharge last evening, Wed Aug 12, from the hospital! It was determined that she will not need the services of a rehab facility, nor PT or OT. Instead, she will be receiving outpatient follow-up through a local facility while staying short term with friends and family. We will continue to share updates regarding her continued progress, and return to the pulpit.

Pastor Leanne Update

Pastor Leanne is making strides everyday, and is currently very easily exhausted. When you have an ICU stay like hers it often requires inpatient rehab afterwards. We are hoping for discharge to such a facility by midweek. Once there they will have a better assessment of how long her recovery will take.

Rev. ‘. Leanne Marie update:
We ar elated to let everyone know that as of Sunday she has been off the ventilator! Today she is speaking via the alternative airway and even FaceTimed her sister. They are doing some follow-up scans to check her gal bladder, and of course she is receiving all things therapy. As we start down the road to recovery, we are eternally grateful for everyone’s continued love and support.

Pastor Leanne update:

The ENT came by this morning and confirmed severe airway swelling and inflammation which has caused ongoing breathing issues when they have made an attempt to remove the breathing tube. Without removing the tube the condition will only continue to get worse. Therefore, we have decided to proceed with an alternative airway that should allow her to heal, and be emancipated from the ventilator and sedation in the next few days. We know she checks all the boxes for this happen, and the neurologist was very impressed with her progress. She’s with us, but the airway swelling has prevented successful removal of the breathing tube, and this action should allow us to make significant progress toward recovery.

Pastor Leanne update:

She has made tremendous progress, and is hitting all metrics to be removed from the ventilator, including following commands and answering yes/no questions by shaking her head. There is one metric she isn’t quite hitting, and her medical team is diligently working on this. We have already seen improvement in this area, and anticipate emancipation from the ventilator on Thursday if not sooner.

We continuously thank everyone at EUM for their support and dedication to Leanne.

From Pastor Leanne’s fiancé Rob. He asked me to share here.

Update for Pastor Leanne:

She is stable and still in the Neuro ICU. Currently, there have been issues with agitation, but we have seen good improvement with the reintroduction of her home medications. They plan to remove her breathing tube Monday morning after allowing her to rest over the weekend.

Please continue to pray for Leanne, and her medical team to have the wisdom to expertly care for her. The family is grateful for everyone’s continued support, and thanks the EUM community for the love they are showing Leanne.
