Welcome to... 'The Higher Rock.' For several years (Almost since Facebook started) I have spent hours on end posting, and re-posting, memes, story links and political rants and raves. I wasted a lot of time spreading the news of the world. And though I am still very concerned about what is happening in our country, and abroad, something changed. In January of this year (2015)... I rededicated my l
ife to my Lord and Saviour: Jesus Christ. And it was at this time that I realized: Up until this point, all my prayers centered around things that I wanted. It had always been about me. In all honesty though, it is really all about Jesus. Once He became the desire of my heart, then the things that I wanted changed. My first, and only goal, is to seek His Kingdom and Righteousness. God is my number one priority. One of the first things that weighed very heavy on my heart, was the fact that I had never done anything for Him. Like I said, it was always about me. And, the initial thought in my mind was Facebook. It seems only fair (And the least that I can do) to devote as much time on here to God, that I had spent on the things of this world. So... I started ' The Higher Rock.'
Everything on this page is something that The Lord has laid on my heart to share. Quite a bit of the material is original. Some, I have borrowed from other pages. Now I know, not everyone will agree with everything that I post. But, these are subjects that God has laid on my heart (As I said before) and I make no apologies for that. My intentions are not to offend anyone. But, sometimes the truth will do just that. If you feel that I am wrong on a certain subject: By all means, enlighten me. But, don't attack me. I will warn you that you will probably see some of the worst grammar on the internet. Please indulge me. I'm just an 'ol mountain boy from Cana, VA, and what you see is what you get. If my 9th grade English teacher, Ethel Vernon, was still around, she would be the first to tell you that grammar was not my best area. Anyway, I do hope you enjoy 'The Higher Rock' and get a blessing out of it. Feel free to share anything original that you see on here. As far as the borrowed stuff, I do my best to use things that allow sharing freely... so there should be no problems with that. If you do like the page, please share it with your friends.
