Repentance is more than just feeling sorry or admitting you did wrong. It’s a change that happens in us through the work of the Holy Spirit.

The word repentance means a change of mind that leads to a change in direction. True repentance changes your heart, your thinking, and the way you live.

The Holy Spirit convicts us of sin, opens our eyes to the truth, draws us closer to Christ, and gives us the desire and strength to turn away from sin.

Jesus talks about this in John 16:8 when He says the Holy Spirit will convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment.

Repentance isn’t just behavior modification or trying harder to be better. It’s surrendering to God and allowing Him to transform you from the inside out, and that transformation continues throughout your walk with Christ.

The Holy Spirit should never be ignored. In Scripture, the Holy Spirit is not just a feeling or influence, but the very presence of God guiding, convicting, comforting, teaching, and empowering believers.

Jesus warned about hardening our hearts to the Spirit’s voice. The Spirit brings conviction when something is wrong, gives peace when we are walking rightly, and often prompts us toward obedience, prayer, repentance, encouragement, or wisdom.

John 16:13 says the Spirit “will guide you into all truth.”

Today we celebrate and honor all mothers, grandmothers, spiritual mothers, and mother figures who pour out love, strength, wisdom, and faith every single day. Your prayers, sacrifices, and encouragement leave a lasting impact on generations.
