Forgiveness isn’t a personality trait or a “nice Christian idea.”
It’s not optional.
Scripture treats it as essential—part of what it means to walk in freedom and be reconciled to God.
When we refuse to forgive, we don’t stay in control…
we step into bo***ge.
Bitterness doesn’t just sit in the heart.
It chains it.
But freedom begins the moment we release what we were never meant to carry.

Sometimes unforgiveness isn’t about what happened to us…
it’s about what we’re holding onto.
We keep bitterness because it feels like control.
We think if we don’t forgive, we still have power over the situation.
But in reality, unforgiveness doesn’t hold them… it holds us.
It divides relationships, damages peace, and slowly separates us from God and others.

Freedom begins when we stop trying to control what hurt us… and start trusting God with it.

We’re lifting up this week's VBS in prayer. 🙏

Praying for every child who walks through the doors tonight to feel seen, safe, and deeply loved. Praying for volunteers who serve with joy and patience. Praying for moments of laughter, wonder, and truth that stick long after the week is over.

God, go before us. Prepare hearts. Fill this place with Your peace and Your presence.
We’re expectant for what You will do. 🌿

You don’t have to force what’s already been planted.

Just like a tree produces what it is, your life reflects what’s inside. When Jesus is at the center and the Holy Spirit is at work in you, something begins to change naturally. Not perfectly overnight, but steadily, faithfully.

The fruit of your life will begin to look different: love, peace, patience, kindness… not because you’re trying harder, but because you’re being transformed from within.

The invitation is simple: let Jesus in. Stay rooted in Him. And watch what grows.
