Greetings Friends,
We'd like to invite you all to an event happening three weeks from tonight (Saturday, November 3rd from 5-8pm) at Mound Evangelical Free Church (2117 Commerce Blvd in Mound). As some of you are aware, by God's grace, we plan to establish a counseling center this time next year as a ministry to our fellowship, the Westonka area, and the broader Twin Cities Metro. In preparation for that launch, we've invited Dr. Tim Allchin (Executive Director of the Biblical Counseling Center of Chicago https://biblicalcounselingcenter.org/ ) to join us for a weekend of training. If you're like a lot of us, counseling is an aspect of your ministry that could always be sharper. The problems we encounter in counseling often leave us feeling in over our heads. And yet, the apostle Paul wrote to the church in Rome (whom he'd never met - mind you): "I myself am satisfied about you, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge and competent to counsel one another" (Romans 15:14). What was the basis of his confidence? Wouldn't you like to know?
We would love it if you (your leadership team, or any interested folks in your congregation) could join us for "Biblical Counseling 101": Learning How to Care Like Christ.
