Turning Point Christian Fellowship Gospel believing, God fearing people wishing to promote the Good News that Jesus Saves, bring hope to

A New Beginning

We are a non-denominational, all are welcome, warm & loving church established in October of 2016. We understand what it is to be broken, to be rejected, to be healed, to be raised to life in Christ and we want all to know you are loved! Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ for eternal life through His death and the power of His resurrection. Believe the Bible to be God’s word and th

e revelation of His will to man and accept it as our rule for faith and conduct. Believe Christian fellowship, mutual edification and evangelical effort, in the form of local churches, is God’s ordained order for His people. Believe each church is to assemble together for worship, fellowship, counsel, and instruction in the Word of God, and the work of the ministry. Believe each church should exercise the gifts and offices provided for in the New Testament to obtain the Christian goal, “Be perfect even as your Father in heaven is perfect.” (Matthew 5:48)

Believe God has called and anointed us to emphasize the fullness of the Gospel through the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

"Sing to God, sing praises to his name; lift up a song to him who rides through the deserts; his name is the Lord; exult before him!” Psalm 68:4

It can be hard to worship our praiseworthy Father when we are in the midst of a battle. But, it is in the driest, most desolate places where we learn more about Who He is and how to rely on the Great I Am, rather than the me, myself and I. So join me and take a moment. Stop what you are doing, stop grousing and complaining and simply say Thank You Father. I worship You and give You praise for EVERYTHING! Yes, Lord, even for the hard things, the hurtful words, the brokenness, the frustration, the empty fridge, the low oil tank, unpaid bills, the uncertainty, the sickness that is beating us down, the violence we see daily in the news and neighborhood, the corruption in our world, the striving.... Yes Lord, I Praise You because You are making beautiful things out of the ashes of our lives and losses. Yes, take a few moments with me and find things to be truly thankful for... As you do, feel the warmth come through your body, your heart, your mind. Do you feel it? Do you see? Only through praise and thanksgiving can we truly become more than conquerors.

Sunday's Sermon Summary

The message was not what I thought it would be. The Holy Spirit turns things on a dime... Instead of 1 Corinthians 15, we read Galatians 4:1-7. We discussed our unalienable rights through Christ.

On the Fourth of July, my family and I attended a wonderful Independence Day Parade. Each float represented a group expressing what they believed and supported. Towards the end, we saw boisterous members of the Democratic Party shouting "this is what democracy looks like" wielding posters reflecting what they believe, that we have the right to peacefully protest (yes we do); that "Hate separates" (totally agree) and right next to that, "Trump is a turd" (isn't that Hate speech?🤔), then we saw members of the Republican Party, no posters, no shouting, just quietly marching with their banner demonstrating in starch contrast, the honor due our Forefathers in celebration of our nations birthday. My point is, that is their right! In this great country of ours, we have certain unalienable rights no one can take from us: Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Choice, Freedom to Bear Arms, Freedom of Religion, Freedom of Expression, Freedom of Choice... We can stand on our Constitutional Rights in a Court of Law and usually, win! We have these rights because of our Forefathers who came together "in order to form a more perfect union". We have been given the Right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness, rights that are unalienable under God.

It has become quite ugly in recent months and in the name of democracy, people are breaking laws left and right, destroying personal and government property, committing violent acts, even murder, and crying "it's my right" all the while blinded to the fact that they are going against the rights of their neighbors. But, as Christ Followers, there is a better way. While Human Rights can indeed be stolen, the rights we have under God no one can take from us.

Here are three listed below pulled from Galatians 4:

The Right of Protection: we are safely held by our Guardian Redeemer (Jesus). Yes, we will go through trials in this life, but, if we remain in Him to the end, we can trust the Lord to keep us for the next.

The Right to Knowledge and to be Loved: We have the right to be known by and to know our God in spite of ourselves, all we've done and will do, He knows it all. The King of the Universe truly loves you and me. He desires us to come into His presence.... What a wonder.... Who am I?

The Right to Riches Beyond Compare: How wonderful it is that the God of All Creation, the Maker of the universe, the galaxy our planet is in, the earth which the Spirit still hovers over, the Sea and all life teaming beneath its waves, and above on the land and in the skies... Oh yes, this Big Almighty, All Powerful, All Knowing, All Present God loves us so much that He gave us access to Himself through Christ His Son. How blessed are we that we have been given, as co-heirs with Christ, everything in Creation. Nothing will be withheld. But the best Treasure of all, the One beyond all comparison, the One with value that cannot be measured, is Jesus our Messiah Himself. Imagine, if you can, that we get to spend all eternity together with Him. Not because of anything we have done, we can't earn it and don't deserve it. Yet by Grace through Faith because God so loved... that He gave...therefore, we will indeed be with Him ... Praise God He gave us these rights. I pray that you hunger and thirst for Him as I do. That you walk not in the footsteps of this wicked generation, but in the Path of the Almighty... 🙏

May you be blessed and know you are loved 🛐

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” (NKJV)

For more than three months I have needed to understand the meaning of dwelling and abiding. The funny thing is, I thought I knew... I shattered my lower tibia, fibula and ankle bone and needed a complete rebuild. It hasn't been an easy journey, I won't lie. But I have had such a time of peace, rest and a deep knowing that God has a plan and a purpose for it all. In fact, I have received cards with notes saying: "God wants you to rest and for you to get strong for what's coming". That's exciting!

But, what does it mean to dwell and abide? I mean, you might think they mean the same thing, but they are very different.

To dwell means to live in or at a specified place.

To abide means to accept or act in accordance with (a rule, decision or recommendation).

Here's the gist of it. I am to dwell in His secret place specifically designed just for me. Wherever that may be, in whatever circumstance, I must learn to accept His rule, and decision for the life He gave me. Even if that means being broken for a season in order to learn whatever it is He wants me to know about myself, life, ministry and most of all HIM. When, like Saul (Paul), we stop "kicking against the goads", that is, fighting against God's discipline and guidance, and follow our Good Shepherd's lead, we learn what it means to rest in Him. Yes, even in times of stress, pain, heartache, loneliness, and loss, there is abundant peace and Kingdom rest. To trust in His unfailing love, knowing His plans for us are always for our good, is the best Way... It is the Jesus Way. 🛐

Acts 2:38-39

38 Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far away, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself.”

Did you catch that last part?

Many wrongly believe that the Holy Spirit stopped filling the Saved after the last Apostle passed into eternity. Read different translations, including the KJV and they all make clear it is for ALL WHOM THE LORD OUR GOD WILL CALL TO HIMSELF!

Oh where is your faith? If you have not received the empowering of the Holy Spirit, it is because you have not asked, believed for it, or because you do not ask with the right heart attitude (James 4).

Believe and be baptized and you WILL receive the Gift of the Holy Spirit. 🛐❣️
