Our Story

Power Ministries Chapel is a full-gospel church in Big Point, MS dedicated to reaching the unchurched in our community and reaching out to those in need.

Power Ministries, founded by Catfish Charlie, has been ministering to others in the name of Jesus for over 25 years by hosting fish fry benefits for people in need (medical bills, funeral expenses, mission trips, etc).

In 2014, Power Ministries Chapel was founded. Pastor Dale Thrasher and his wife, Jeanni, along with Catfish Charlie and his wife Lannie, saw a need for a church where all felt welcome. We are committed to ministering to the poor and brokenhearted (Luke 4:18) in our community, nearby communities, and beyond (Acts 1:8). Power Ministries Chapel holds services on Sundays at 10:30 A.M. and 6 P.M. We host various outreach events and Bible studies in the community throughout the month; these may be accessed on our website. We work closely with other ministries and the homeless and provide free counseling to those in need.

In the summer of 2018, construction was completed on the Parsonage and Communications Center. In addition to living space for the pastor, this building contains a bedroom for traveling missionaries and others in need, a media room for podcasts and live chats, and a large open living/dining area for church meals and community gatherings.
