It’s literally 4 days away! I am soooooooooooo excited. I’ve spoken to my team and we’re all praying regarding this event. When I tell you I am anticipating a great move of God, I’m not joking! If you can be there, please join us. It’s this Saturday at 5pm. You will NOT be disappointed!!!

So, I’ve come out of DND mode. And I can honestly say, it was well worth it. Sometimes life gets to be too much, and then there are people being people. Ugh! As one who deals with depression and diagnosed as a PTSD sufferer, I’m learning how important it is to say NO. I know some may not understand all that one deals with who suffers in silence with either of these. But if you knew how hard it really is to just DECIDE to show up at any place outside of what’s required, you really would give more grace. We first have to decide that it’s ok to show up. Then, we have to settle in our minds and allow our spirits to agree that it’s ok BEFORE we accept an invite to anything. We normally explore every possibility of how many people that will be present and how close in proximity they will be to our square. And then, there’s all of the noise to take into consideration. So by the time we calculate all of that and then factor in how long it will take for us to escape, we’d just rather not go. So when we do finally accept an invitation please understand how much it took for us to say, yes. And just in case we give an impromptu yes, trust and believe, immediately thereafter, we’ve already started planning a reason to decline. It’s not easy at all. We just make it look that way. We didn’t ask for this and neither did we choose it. It’s a result of the trauma at an unexpected event in our life! Trust and believe, we’re doing the best we can with what’s been given.

Depression is REAL.
Mental illness is REAL.
Isolation is a part of it.
Darkness is a part of it.
Loss of interest is a part of it.
Anger is a part of it.
Insecurity is a part of it.
Loneliness is a part of it.
Self doubt is a part of it.
Low self esteem is a part of it.
So if you know someone that who struggles with depression, send a word of love and encouragement. They may not respond, but it’s needed and appreciated.
And to the one who’s dealing with it, I see you and I understand. Just keep going. IT WILL PASS! I PROMISE!

Tonight, I am resting inside my peaceful home. And although evilness is all around, I take joy in knowing that mine are home and safe. With that being said, my heart and thoughts are with the parents, family, classmates, and community of which the 13 year old baby who took her life because of being bullied.
We, as parents, adults, and/or mentors have to do a better job at talking with our children and the youth of our surrounding communities, regarding the importance of being a leader. In doing so, we encourage our children and other youth, to stand up for the one/s who's being bullied, because you honestly don't know what the next person may be going through.
Now, another family has to experience the same gut wrenching pain and agony, of burying their baby/loved one. No, we can't save everyone. However, we can show kindness and love in a moment towards someone who has made up their minds to end their life on this or that date.
God, please help us to be more sensitive towards our feelings and what it is they MAY be going through. In Jesus Name! Amen!
