Knights of Columbus Council 3622 Moss Bluff, Louisiana

Knights of Columbus Council 3622 Moss Bluff, Louisiana Catholic Men's Organization

Meets on the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm. Thanks to the efforts of Father Michael J. McGivney, assistant pastor of St.

Mary’s Church in New Haven and some of his parishioners, the Connecticut state legislature on March 29, 1882, officially chartered the Knights of Columbus as a fraternal benefit society. The Order is still true to its founding principles of charity, unity and fraternity. The history of the Order shows how the foresight of Father Michael J. McGivney, whose cause for sainthood is being investigated

by the Vatican, brought about what has become the world's foremost Catholic fraternal benefit society. The Order has helped families obtain economic security and stability through its life insurance, annuity and long-term care programs, and has contributed time and energy worldwide to service in communities. The Knights of Columbus has grown from several members in one council to more than 14,000 councils and 1.8 million members throughout the United States, Canada, the Philippines, Mexico, Poland, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Panama, the Bahamas, the Virgin Islands, Cuba, Guatemala, Guam, Saipan, Lithuania, Ukraine, and South Korea

The St. Theodore Knights of Columbus Council 3622 Annual Memorial Banquet is set for Thursday November 4th. The service will begin with a Mass at St. Theodore's Church at 6 pm with Father Guilbeau officiating. After Mass, we will move to the Activity Center at St. Theodore's for a brief Memorial Service and a meal. Due to the Knights not having a hall anymore at this time, we are asking anyone that comes to please bring a covered dish. The Knights will supply the meat (brisket) and tea. This is a time of honoring and remembrance of all of our past Knights of Council 3622. If you are aware of anyone who may not have gotten this information, please pass it on to them. Hoping to see you there. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Ben McDaniel at 337-884-7154.

An Act of Spiritual Communion
My Jesus,
I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You.

Amen.

“Come, you who are blessed by my Father. Inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.” Matthew 25:34

At last night's memorial banquet the names of eighty-eight brother Knights who have gone before us in faith during the past fraternal year were solemnly read:
…brother knights with whom we enjoyed friendship,
…brother knights whose family members we know,
…brother knights with whom we worked so closely.

We appreciate Father Starkovich’s message on diocesan efforts to recruit and train young men as priests.

Many thanks to the kind-hearted people of Moss Bluff that donated to our Tootsie Roll drive. Due to your generosity, our council had the privilege of donating $800 to each five local schools.

So the next time you see a Knight in a yellow vest asking for donations outside a grocery store, and you receive a Tootsie Roll, remember it’s more than a “Tootsie Roll Drive.” It’s a chance to provide people with intellectual and physical disabilities more resources to live a happy life.
