Forever Family,

You may remember, The Shine Effect came to CR 2 years ago.

See the story below. 😊

We have some exciting news!!! 🎉🎉🎉

As most of you know, the 4 of us in The Shine Effect live on faith financially. We trust God to open the doors, and we've tried to be faithful to walk through them. God has always taken care of our needs, and we stay frugal with our limited budget, trying to be good stewards of what God gives us.

Since Ben and Maria got married in the fall of 2014, the 4 of us have all lived together in the same house. While we all get along really well, we've all still hoped and prayed that one day we would be able to live in separate houses.

Well that day has finally come! 😃🙌 We all felt God called us to step out on faith for this, and thanks to God's provisions, they found a home in La Follette, TN, and they love it! It's such an amazing answer to prayer!

We consider you all family so we wanted you to know the exciting news!

A number of people have already asked for a way to help them out as they make this big life change. They have an Amazon wish list with items they still need for their house if you feel led to help. ❤️

We love you guys!

Hey Forever Family & those looking for a CR Forever Family!

This page has had more traffic lately looking for recovery groups.

Northroad is not currently hosting any Celebrate Recovery groups.

Please either get a hold of a staff memeber to get plugged in at the church or below are some recovery oriented groups in the area for meetings.

Remember, one day at a time, one moment at a time. You can do this!🌟

When I think of boundaries, I think about the electric fence we installed for our dog, Yolo.

Yolo’s favorite thing to do is dash across the street to visit the 3 dogs that live there. We tried everything to get him to stop. We finally installed an electric fence around our property. Once you put it up, you’re supposed to plant little yellow flags to mark the boundary. Installing an electric fence without the flags would be cruel because your dog would have no idea what area is safe.

Boundaries in your life work the same way. You must plant yellow flags, otherwise nobody knows the boundary exists. If you haven’t told your best friend that you’re tired of hearing her complain about her relationship that ended 10 months ago how is she going to know she’s crossing a boundary? If you haven’t told your boss you can’t answer your phone after 7pm because you have to help your kid with two hours of homework, how are they to know they’re crossing a boundary? If you haven’t told your mother-in-law that she always overstays her welcome when she says she is just going to stop by for a quick hello, how does she know she’s crossing a boundary?

Boundaries are for you. They’re your responsibility. But nobody will respect them if they don’t know where the flags are. Which is why it’s your job to communicate them.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. 1 in 5. The number of people who will be affected by mental illness in any given year. This person is sitting next to you. This person is living in your house. This person is a part of your family. This is you. Even if this disease is not yours to fight, you are impacted by knowing and loving someone who is.

A semicolon. A pause. An indication of connection between sentences. Often causing confusion yet important to empathize relationships. A pause to let the reader know there is more to the story.

The semicolon can be described as stronger than a comma but weaker than a period. An apt description. However the semicolon is more than just this. It continues the sentence where a period could be placed.

And I am stronger than depression and anxiety. I am more than what it tells me I am. It will not be my ending period. My disease makes me pause in my day. It makes me stop and care for myself. But it doesn't end me. I have more to my story. And so do you. Share it. Talk about it. Reveal it. Display it.

There is no shame. Don't let it become your end. Let it be a part of your story. One that you overcome everyday.

Support your 1 in 5. Show them that you see them. You hear them. You love them. Show them that their disease does not make them less of a person.

My name is Katie. I am 1 in 5.

A HUGE thank you to Jonah Werner and his wife for coming out to Northroad for our 5 year anniversary and closing us out with an incredible concert filled beautiful music that brought tears and lots of laughter! And he pointed it all to Jesus!! We are so grateful to all who came out to support us last night and throughout the past 5 years! We would also like to thank all the servants who helped make this night possible and on a weekly basis for the past 5 years. This is not the end, it’s only the beginning! Stay tuned for events coming up at least once a month to get together! We are a Forever Family! We love you guys! Stay connected ♥️
