We welcome you to the page of Calvary Independent Baptist Church! It is a great joy for all of us at our church that you have visited our site today. Here at Calvary, our desire and passion is “To Know Christ and To Make Him Known!"

Our family moved to Delaware County, PA in 1977 to begin this church, and God has wonderfully worked through the years to bring many people to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ and also to help many to take new steps of discipleship in their walk with the Lord. I pray that God will bless you richly as you visit us and that if you do not know Christ as your Savior that you will receive Him into your heart today. Cartwright Phil. 1:6

Teaching kids to be peacemakers… because “he started it!” has never actually ended an argument. 😂🕊️

Last night at I Wanna Grow, we explored Matthew 5:9–10 and learned about making peace and standing for what’s right—even when it isn’t popular.

The kids also made their own wind chimes—so if you hear a little extra noise at home, consider it a peaceful reminder! 😉🎶

We take “Feed my sheep” pretty seriously around here… especially when there’s a luncheon involved! 😂🍽️

What a blessing to share good food, plenty of laughs, and sweet fellowship today. Thank you to everyone who cooked, served, and helped clean up!

This week’s lesson for I Wanna Grow continues with the Beatitudes from Matthew 5 on Mercy!

We learned that mercy is a choice to respond with kindness and forgiven rather than with cruelty and resentment.

Our children shared some examples:

If someone spills their drink - respond by helping them clean it instead of laughing at them

If someone falls down (not off a cliff 😂) - respond by helping them back up instead of ignoring them

If someone hurts you - respond with forgiveness and not hurting them back

Just as God has shown us Mercy through His Grace and Love, so should we!

We have a few weeks left until the end of this session but a new one will start up after the New Year! Reach out today if you’d like to be a part of the GROWTH!

Another successful night of I Wanna Grow!

We learned that Meekness is NOT Weakness.

Being Meek is having the STRENGTH to control ourselves and respond in a way that honors God.

Jesus had more power than anyone, but He didn’t use His power selfishly. He was patient, gentle, obedient to His Father, and showed mercy to others.

It takes strength to forgive.
It takes strength to stay calm when someone makes you angry.
It takes strength to obey when you don’t feel like obeying.
That’s Meekness.

Matthew 5:5

We’re teaching on the Beatitudes during this series of “I Wanna Grow” and we’re inviting children ages 5 to 13 to come join the fun! We do different series throughout the year to focus on theme messages from the Bible that children can apply in everyday life to GROW with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
