There are several opening lines in a book that immediately catch your attention. Lines like, "It was the best of times it was the worst of times..." by Dickens and Melville’s, "Call me Ishmael." Sunday's worship service will be our next Word in Music Sunday featuring the choirs from both MPC and Newtown Presbyterian. Joining the choirs will be a chamber orchestra as they perform "Illuminare" by Elaine Hagenberg. Bring a friend and join us for this very special service!

Due to the special Word in Music worship service, there will be no Time for Young Disciples during the service. Childcare will be provided in the Nursery for children under five during the service.

We will be hosting an Open House on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. We have so much more than just clothing, though we certainly do have a lot of clothing! Whether you're a long-time customer or have always wanted to stop by, now is your opportunity to find some great bargains before we close in June for our summer hiatus.

There is a thread that connects travel writer, Rick Steves, the Vatican, a pickpocket, and two nameless women. It all happened one afternoon a few years ago when I was on sabbatical.
