Much of Paul's argument in Romans is to refute the perspectives of the School of Shammai and their perspectives and rulings on the Gentiles. It's in this era that concepts like Gentiles keeping the Noahide Laws developed. But even these interfere with God's plan and Israel's mission to the Nations. The Remnant of Israel, which Paul defines as those who have accepted Yeshua as Messiah have a mission to be a Kingdom of Priests and a Light to the Gentiles. It's a mission that can breakdown if Shammai is embraced.

Others don't understand God's Righteousness and what it means for the Jewish leadership to try and establish their own.? God's way is better. God's way is open to all who believe Yeshua is the Messiah.

Paul takes on the perspectives of Shammai again in pointing out no one has a guaranteed place in the World to Come. Those who believe in Messiah do. And this seat at the table is open even to the Gentiles. ADONAI is not unjust or unfair by including the Gentiles in His redemptive plan. He is the One who decides How He Redeems and Who He Redeems. He is the Master who hires the workers and pays the wages.

A person in another messianic page asked why there's hostility to a One Law type of position. I find such opposition inconsistent and creates other problems. This is what I wrote in answer to his question.

I agree much seems to be concerned with cultural appropriation or maintaining a unique Jewish identity. Most are also trying to reassure traditional believers that "we're not saying that everyone Has To or is Obligated to keep the Torah" which usually boils down to Sabbath and Food Laws. This is often to avoid the accusation of legalism-- "You're making Torah a salvation level issue" and/or "are you saying we're not saved?" And to avoid upsetting the status quo of where we are today. Don't make anyone think they have to change anything.

But this was not so from the beginning.

Considering the pagan culture that the 1st century gentiles were coming out of, considering they were "no longer strangers to the covenants (plural) of promise" by the blood of Messiah, it's safe to say that the general direction of Discipleship is that of increasing obedience to the commands of God, not less.

Is there a cap or limit on how much we are to obey God? What commands do gentiles have God's permission to disobey? All that really puts God's standards on trial. Are they really holy, righteous and good?

If they are, then shouldn't they be the standard for all those who claim loyalty to the King?

If so, wouldn't gentiles begin to look and act more like their Jewish brothers in Messiah and take their cues from them as they are in the synagogues, hearing Moses every Shabbat as Acts 15 concludes? Why are they there if not to be adding the Torah to their lives?

Paul loves his fellow Jewish people and his heritage in Judaism. The thought that his words, "not all Israel are Israel" would be used as antisemitic tropes against Jews & Israel would devastate the Apostle because they are completely abusing his point. Those who do this are doing exactly what

Peter warns us about these people in 2 Peter 3:15-16 - "Bear in mind that the patience of our Lord means salvation—just as our dearly loved brother Paul also wrote to you with the wisdom given to him. 16 He speaks about these matters in all of his letters. Some things in them are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist (as they also do with the rest of the Scriptures)—to their own destruction."
