Advocate with New Jersey Together by Showing Up Jan. 26 at 11am on ZOOM:
New Jersey’s Fair Chance in Housing Law has the potential to be a model for the country, but only if it is proactively enforced.
Since the law’s signing in the summer, faith and non-profit leaders with New Jersey Together have continued to hear stories from returning citizens who have been denied housing due to their justice system involvement. This is directly and negatively impacting these individuals’ lives. It has an impact on their ability to reintegrate successfully into their communities and families. It impacts their ability to find and maintain meaningful employment.
This perfect storm of negative consequences for returning citizens must stop in 2022.
Join us on 1/26 at 11am as we press for proactive enforcement and share stories from people who are directly affected as well as from landlords about why this will be critical in 2022.
Next Wednesday, January 26th at 11am via Zoom, New Jersey Together is hosting a press conference regarding enforcement of the “Fair Chance in Housing Act” that outlaws discrimination against returning citizens. It will be Wednesday the 26th at 11 AM on zoom.
