Fear and intimidation is a trap that holds you back. But when you place your confidence in the Lord, you will be seated in the high place.

"May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understand it, and may you be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from God" ❤️ Ephesians 3:16

The LORD is all I need. He takes care of me. My share in life has been pleasant; my part has been beautiful. ❤️ Psalm 16:5-6

If you are a follower of Christ, God chose precisely when and how to invite you to join His family. You received the most prestigious, coveted invitation in history. He chose you! ❤️
Maybe you simply yearned for more meaning in your life and He led you into a Christian community. Perhaps you needed a radical life change, to shed an addiction or other destructive pattern, and you felt Him lift you out of the darkness. Regardless of how it happened, He called you by name, and now you are His! ❤️

Those who love Your teachings will find true peace, and nothing will defeat them.
❤️ Psalm 119:165

The natural result of love is fascination: to be drawn to something so irresistibly that nothing can keep you from it. When we fascinate ourselves with the Word of God, we become an indestructible force in the spiritual realm.
We cannot be easily subjected to the lies of the enemy when our hearts have been saturated in the truth. By loving the teachings of God, His wisdom becomes our confidence and His presence our reward. ❤️

Father, give us a love for Your teachings. When our flesh rises up against Your truth, help us to overcome it by Your Spirit. Let us be fascinated by You. Give us a love for You and Your Word that is unmatched by any other love in our life. ❤️

Cast your burden upon the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken. ❤️ Psalm 55:22

We all have different ways of dealing with worry. Some internalize it, others call a friend, and still others find a way to take their minds off of it. When we bring our worry to God and lay our anxious hearts bare before Him, He will encourage us, lift us up, and sustain us. He will not allow us to be shaken or weakened by worry because He holds us through every situation.
The God who knows beginning from end is not flustered by our anxiety, and does not allow us to be overcome by uncertainty. ❤️

He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His wounds we are healed. ❤️ Isaiah 53:5

We were cursed by the sin of humanity!
What a powerful transformation it was when Jesus came to remove the curse. He suffered to release us from guilt. His punishment brought us peace. He wore the shame so we could be healed. While it is sobering to realize what Jesus has done for us, we can also rejoice in our freedom. Jesus is not still on the cross! We are not still under the curse! If you are feeling the weight of your brokenness today, let your heart be encouraged that Jesus came to give you life. Live in the fullness of His love! ❤️

Who has anguish? Who has sorrow?
Who is always fighting? Who is always complaining?
Who has unnecessary bruises? Who has bloodshot eyes?
It is the one who spends long hours in the taverns,
trying out new drinks.
Don't gaze at the wine, seeing how red it is,
how it sparkles in the cup, how smoothly it goes down.
For in the end it bites like a poisonous snake;
it stings like a viper.
You will see hallucinations,
and you will say crazy things.
You will stagger like a sailor tossed at sea,
clinging to a swaying mast.
And you will say, "They hit me, but I didn't feel it.
I didn't even know it when they beat me up.
When will I wake up so I can look for another drink?"
❤️ Proverbs 23: 29-35

When we refuse to admit our powerlessness we are only deceiving ourselves. The lies we tell ourselves and others are familiar: "I can stop any time I want to." "I'm in control; this one won't hurt anything." And all the while, we are inching closer to disaster.
We need to be careful not to fall into a similar trap. As we learn to acknowledge our powerlessness over our addictive/compulsive tendacies daily, we will become more aware of behaviors that will likely lead us to destruction. ❤️

About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. ❤️ Acts 16:25

Being thrown into prison for your faith is one of the hardest forms of persecution believers can face. It is worth noticing that despite the walls around them, Paul and Silas continued to praise God with praying and singing. It must have been loud enough for the other prisoners to hear them. Paul and Silas were able to be a witness in the most severe of circumstances.
We are a light to the world and God uses us in many different ways. Perhaps you have had it tough lately, or maybe things are going very well. Either way, people are listening. Who are the prisoners around you that need to be set free by the love of Christ? Who needs to hear your prayers and singing? Can you trust that God is good wherever you are in life right now? He will give you strength to praise him at all times. ❤️
