Happy Labor Day from Camp Trinity! 🌲🔨

Today we give thanks to God for the gift of work, the ability to serve, and the many hands He uses to accomplish His purposes.

At Camp Trinity, we’re especially thankful for every staff member, volunteer, supporter, congregation, and friend who gives their time and talents to this ministry. Whether building, repairing, cleaning, cooking, teaching, serving campers, or simply lending a helping hand—our work has a greater purpose when it is done in service to Christ.

“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.”
Colossians 3:23 (ESV)

May our work always be more than something we simply have to do. May it be an opportunity to serve our neighbor, care for God’s creation, and glorify the One who has called us to serve.

Work. Serve. Build together. For His glory.

Made a trip to Memphis to visit Christ the King Lutheran and met the best Custodian ever! We unfortunately hit a semi’s blown tire in West Memphis drug our undercarriage all the way to the church. He crawled underneath with his blessed zip ties and fixed it to where we could get back home! Thank you Christ the King Lutheran for taking such good care of us!

What does it mean to be a Christian man who stands watch over what God has entrusted to him?

The Sentinel Retreat at Camp Trinity explores faith, courage, discipline, service, sacrifice, and the defense of our neighbor through Scripture and the historic examples of the Knights Hospitaller and Knights Templar.

These Christian knights understood that strength was not for personal glory—it was for service: defending the weak, caring for those in need, standing firm in the faith, and placing duty above comfort.

Through study, fellowship, reflection, and practical application, men will be challenged to:

⚔️ Stand firm in the faith
🛡️ Protect and serve their neighbor
✝️ Lead with courage and humility
🔥 Put duty above comfort
🙏 Serve Christ faithfully in their vocations

It is Road Trip Sunday! Camp Trinity hit the road today visiting Hope Lutheran Church Jacksonville (Hope Lutheran in Jacksonville, AR) this morning, attending Divine Service, sharing about Camp Trinity afterwards and also Music on the Mountain coming up next month!

Our timing was perfect as we attended on the last Sunday of the month, which features a church family meal! We will remember that small fact when we schedule next time too!

We also were able to give some love to Alaina who attended 2 summer camps (that’s right…2 summer camps) at Camp Trinity this past summer! She is the sweetest!

Thank you Hope Lutheran Church Jacksonville for your encouragement and support of Camp Trinity! We can’t wait to come back and visit you again!

Sometimes we’re so focused on where we’re going that we forget to ask who we’re following.

Jesus gives us a striking warning in Matthew 15:14:

“Let them alone; they are blind guides. And if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.” — Matthew 15:14 (ESV)

Following the crowd doesn’t guarantee we’re headed in the right direction. Following what’s popular doesn’t guarantee it’s true. And following someone confidently walking the wrong way still leads to the wrong destination.

That’s why we need our eyes fixed on Jesus.

At camp, we play games where being blindfolded can be a lot of fun—but life is different. We need a trustworthy guide. Christ doesn’t simply point us toward the way. He is the Way.

May we learn to recognize His voice, trust His Word, and follow where He leads.

Don’t follow blindly. Follow Jesus. ✝️
