Our Story
"Caring as Jesus Cares" is the mission statement for the Bethel UMC. This statement seeks to be brief, memorable and yet all-encompassing. The church in the for of Bethel UMC strives to be administered in the manner of Christ's own oversight and with the discipline of the Holy Spirit.
As a local church, Bethel UMC, is a point from which the Gospel of Jesus Christ flourishes and is spread throughout the community. Bethel UMC is dedicated to be an authentic Bible-based Christian church.
The Bethel UMC local church is a part of the wider church that reaches into the greater society and works in unison to support the work of Christ throughout the world. Bethel UMC gathers together to hear the Word of God, receive the sacraments, praise and worship God, and minister to all of the members.
Bethel UMC as part of The United Methodist Church seeks to connect to and fulfill the stated mission, "To make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the World." First, the mission statement of Bethel UMC is designed to provide a synchronous match for that of The United Methodist Church; therefore, the stated mission and the goals are connected and make the fulfillment of the UMC mission a natural outcome. Second, as a small, rural church the caring of Jesus is a natural complement to outreach in this community while still making "disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the World" a logical and expected progression of Jesus caring for his people.
