Affectionately known as a "kol bo" rabbi, Moshe is not only a spiritual leader but also a trained cantor, professional guitarist, and percussionist.

He is deeply passionate about eliciting joy in worship through song, stories, and contemporary sources , and yes—his longest shofar blast was once timed at 40 seconds! Whether he is working with college students, young families, or seniors, Rabbi Moshe is dedicated to inspiring everyone to find their own unique spiritual path.

On Saturday evening, February 28th, Tree of Life celebrated the joyful holiday of Purim with lots of noise, costumes, and good food. During Rabbi Joe’s reading of the Megillah, the sanctuary was filled with the din of noise makers and boos each time Horrible Haman’s name was mentioned. Afterwards costumes were judged and feasting in the social hall commenced. Hammantachen, the traditional triangular holiday pastry, starred in the dessert category. This year Rabbi Joe’s brilliant musical retelling of the Purim story was titled, “Showboat in Shushan”. Based on the 1920’s musical, “Showboat”, it featured a tipsy King Ahasuerus and a Foxy Queen Esther. Already looking forward to next year.

A community that learns together...🌳🕍
In celebration of Tu Bishvat (the New Year of Trees) and Candlemas, over 45 people from the Tree of Life and the First Presbyterian Church Morgantown congregations met at Tree of Life . After entertaining and educational presentations by Rabbi Joe Hample and Reverend Zac Morton, we shared a scrumptious potluck dinner. We can't wait to do it again!

"Just as one candle kindles another, may we ignite each other’s spirits, searching together for the places of light and warmth within and around us all"

Rabbi Daniel Klein.

Each day during Chanukkah as Tree of Life members lit our candles on our menorahs, we united in following the commandments to “open your hand to the poor and needy in your land” Deut. 15:11 and “to share your bread with the needy” Isaiah 58:7. Each day we put an essential grocery item in a bag to be donated to a local food pantry. We collected 17 bags –that’s over 200 pounds of groceries! It was a mitzvah not just for the recipients, but for each of us -- giving us the opportunity to, in some small way, share our light and love with the greater Morgantown community.
