“Dwelling on the wrong things” John 9:1-41
>. He had never seen any of those things since he was born. Until, . . . Jesus came along.
> Verse 2 brings up a picture of humanity, even of the carnality of the disciples.
> Romans 5:12
> Verse 3 is the answer to many of our questions that we may ask.
> Things over yonder look good and different and so much better, until . . .
> There are so many times that we fail to stop and consider exactly what God has done in our lives, is doing in our lives, and is going to do in our lives.
> As recipients of mercy and grace and salvation that came with such an awful cost, we should be more than willing to give God praise at every opportunity.
> Our friends, neighbors can see what has happened, and be like those in verse 9.
> And what they see, is what we project.
> . . . you will not see that until the 27th verse, . . .
> We can be quick to say certain things and do certain things OR We can also be slow . . .
> We can be like the Pharisees and make issues of the wrong things like they did in verse 16.
> In John 11:47, . . .
> Verse 22.
> Verse 29
> Verse 34
> Luke 18:11-12. These are the same people that . . .
> But the rest of prayer that should have been _______________________.

“Lead me to the Rock” Psalms 61
>. The psalm consists of an earnest prayer, followed by expressions of trust and confidence, and by a burst of praise in conclusion.
> The context of the psalm is that the heart of David was wrapped with trouble. Anxiety and grief wrapped his soul as a garment.
> verse 2 says, “lead me to the Rock that is higher than I.”
> The fact of life is this: ___________________________________________
> But I choose to believe God.
> Our hearts can be weary because of all that is going on around us.
> God works behind the scenes, putting the pieces and parts together, to make it complete.
> Or we can carry them to Jesus Christ and lay ALL of them at His feet and He will take them and make them turn out in the way that they should. We get into trouble though, when _____________________________________
> We can get so tore up about those things that are happening, when they are in God’s control, and we want something different.
> We can get overwhelmed because we fail to include God in our endeavors.
> . . . has absolute control over it all.
> Matthew 11:28-30, “Come to Me all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (29) Take My yoke on you and learn of Me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you shall find rest to your souls. (30) For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.”
> Jesus used the metaphor of a yoke that was placed on oxen in that day to plow the fields.
> What Jesus was saying is that we can dwell on things that we have zero control over, or we can give those things to God and allow Him to work.
> Do we trust God more than ourselves?
