I was reading a book called Theology for Life by Ronni Kurtz and came across this encouraging quote.

We await heaven and all the rewards therein. We eagerly long for the day when all sadness is unraveled at the seams; when endurance in the faith is a memory; when injustice takes its final breath as holy justice reigns; when we are remade and receive our glorified bodies. Yes, we long with great anticipation for all these things, yet what we want more than all these precious gifts is the Giver himself. The true prize of heaven is that, in the end, we get God. One day, we will be swallowed into his triune love in a way we cannot fathom this side of the resurrection. One day, King David’s sole desire will be granted to you and me: “One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord” (Ps. 27:4). We will one day receive our reward—seeing Christ face-to-face—and in that face our joy and delight will become complete beyond comprehension. Yes, we desire the gifts of heaven, but the deepest desire of our hearts is to be with the Triune God, who is the goal and reward of all things.

We need to be praying for the people on the gulf coast that are being impacted by this hurricane. At work I get to have contact with people in the area and I know that they are worried about this storm. Join me in praying for Gods protection on them.
